- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.

- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.

Hello Augustine koh24,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Yap Kwong Weng, may be copied from http://yapkwongweng.com/about-me/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 16:34, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Yap Kwong Weng
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Yap Kwong Weng, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Yap Kwong Weng, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Yap Kwong Weng. Please make your case on the page's talk page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Puffin Let's talk! 18:09, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:16, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Yap Kwong Weng, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.weforum.org/young-global-leaders/yap-kwong-weng.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 18:39, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
The article Yap Kwong Weng has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Safiel (talk) 18:58, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
2nd Deletion of Yap Kwong Wang
[edit]Hello,
I have deleted this article for a second time as the entirety of it is a re-hash of the website http://www.weforum.org/young-global-leaders/yap-kwong-weng . I see you're relatively new at editing so I thought I'd give you some detailed reasoning past the standard templates on your page. The article as it stood had no 3rd party sources indicating why Mr. Weng is notable. While I think a case can be made for an article on Mr. Weng, there needs to be more than just a re-hash of his bio from the World Economic Forum with better sources detailing his work and its significance. Please note that Wikipedia is not to be used as a platform for promotion, but rather a place for neutral information about subjects. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks! Sasquatch t|c 19:47, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Yap Kwong Weng
[edit]Hello Augustine koh24,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Yap Kwong Weng for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 20:20, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

- Here's a hint for notability. special:whatlinkshere/Yap Kwong Weng - what are you going to put links to Yap Kwong Weng from? Barney the barney barney (talk) 20:47, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
The article Yap Kwong Weng has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Subject is a community leader and official in a Non Governmental Organization. While he does have some mention, does not appear to satisfy WP:GNG. However, there is enough assertion of significance that I have declined CSD A7.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Safiel (talk) 22:01, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
