[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Miss intercontinental usa.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Issuing level 2 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))
[edit]Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Selena Y. Du. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Audreylomberg. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Selena Y. Du, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Please clarify how you are related to Selena Y. Du Lemongirl942 (talk) 02:42, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Re:Selena Y. Du
[edit]Sorry for the delayed response, I've been unexpectedly busy the last few weeks and its been hard to build in enough time to get on here and answer questions adequately.
As to your question, there are two parts to that. The first concerns the general notability guidelines on Wikipedia; these guidelines are the bar by which material as a whole is judged to be eligible for inclusion here. As they relate to your article, the problem is from the first three criteria listed. The article lacks significant coverage from independent third party sources. Those third party sources already present in the article are insufficient to demonstrate the article's subject. You have seven sources cited, but from the perspective of the English Wikipedia it seems a little...disconcerting shall we say that all the sources seem to be in a foreign language. This seems to be in conflict with the reliable sources criteria listed at the page.
Additionally, since your article is a biography article and concerns a model, it comes under the more precise notability for people guidelines. Here the article's ambiguous notability is destroyed under the criteria given at WP:NMODEL: your model has never had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions, lacks a large fan base or a significant "cult" following, and has not made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment. Without any support in these three areas your model has no anchor to keep her here on Wikipedia.
Now from a perspective of the article's retention here, I'd qualify this as a case of WP:TOOSOON: at some point in the future your model may reach a point where she can satisfy the mandatory criteria under WP:NMODEL, but right right it appears to be too soon for Selena to have page here on Wikipedia. The best you could hope for at the afd at the moment then would be redirect the article to a page that had relevant information on an event the model participated in (the pageant for example), or petition to have the article moved into the sandbox or draft space so as to work on it until the article reaches a point where it can come back and stay on Wikipedia.
