Thank you for your contribution, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the Sandbox to get started. Thank you.--John (talk) 22:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note. I am disappointed you have elected to revert my edits while the discussion is under way, and I notice that you have provided only your own assertion regarding your contention. I request you provide some reliable sources to back up your point of view. --John (talk) 17:00, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- I want to apologise to you. After reading the references you sent, and some further thought on my part, I have struck through the warning I gave you as it seems you were right on this matter. Thank you for working to improve our coverage. --John (talk) 20:14, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Angel of Grozny: Inside Chechnya
[edit]I have nominated Angel of Grozny: Inside Chechnya, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Angel of Grozny: Inside Chechnya. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Livitup (talk) 19:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your comment. You might also want to take a look at One Hundred And One Days: A Baghdad Journal and With Their Backs to The World: Portraits of Serbia as I imagine all three are much the same in terms of notoriety and importance. I don't think any of them should be deleted though, especially not if the alternative is to make Asne Seierstad's own page look as cluttered as it was before.Atoms4peace (talk) 19:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Two wrongs make a right much? :) Seriously, it appears I was a bit hasty in nominating this and the community agrees that the article should stay... though I think Seinerstad's page is short enough that it could take a merge of all these articles on her books. It would add notability to the author herself, too. Have fun! Livitup (talk) 13:11, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

- (Also, I added Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature to a new section at List of literary awards#Norwegian literature. I assume that's what was wanted. :) -- Quiddity (talk) 19:34, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
