Langar

[edit]

I added references to the points about vegetarian food being served in places of worship.

The two sites I added were :

http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:WLL0YjD1ubwJ:www.unitedsikhs.org/hollamohalla.pdf+%22Nihang%22%2B%22vegetarian%22%2B%22langar%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=uk

http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart18.htm

The first link was important since the total opposite was on the article without proper reference which was confusing. So there it is. Thanks Khalsaburg (talk) 00:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the user sikh history seems to have deleted every edit I made (above) ?? It seems impossible to have the correct views on diet in religion, even the Akhand Kirtani Jatha article conflicts with its own website views as to what is allowed, so I have corrected that. I will hope you and I can monitor that article for future vandalism. Khalsaburg (talk) 11:25, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

::On the contrary, you deleted swathes of text without discussion. I merely restored a previous edit. Regards--Sikh-history (talk) 11:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Hurricane Andy. xDD

I'll sure will read the articles you've provided. I'm just learning my way here in Wikipedia. But on some occasions where I run into something unusual, I'll contact you. Otherwise, I'll be helping myself here. Hehe

Vegetarianism in Sikhism

[edit]

Is it possible to not make this an article which could be read as 'meat consumption in Sikhism' because thats how it reads unfortunately ?

The article title is Vegetarianism in Sikhism Khalsaburg (talk) 16:24, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question : user: sikh-history

[edit]

Hi Andy, could you kindly ask sikh-history this question?

Why has he stated that in the article vegetarianism in Sikhism the Akhand Kirtani Jatha are meat free. YET, in the article Akhand Kirtani Jatha this fact has been very very ommited ? It is NOT mentioned and has been deleted 3 times as well as many other articles.

I'd be grateful if we can get at least one answer from either roadahead or s.h. Thanks Khalsaburg (talk) 00:25, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can ask me these questions on my talk page (sorry Andy about using your page, user Roadahead is already dealing with this issue). If you read the discussion we have had on these issues, we have agreed by consensus that we will use ISBN referenced articles on these issues, as we have done so. Sikhs are not meat free as you claim. The own Sikh Code of conduct prescribes consumption of non-Kuttha meat. Akhand Kirtani Jatha article highlights the AKJ position on the definition of Kuttha. The AKJ are a fringe group who are extreme zealots in the enforcement of vegetarianism. All these view points have been highlighted in all articles. Regards --Sikh-history (talk) 11:03, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You still haven't answered my question. You stated that in the article vegetarianism in Sikhism the Akhand Kirtani Jatha are meat free. YET, in the article Akhand Kirtani Jatha this fact has been very very ommited ? It is NOT mentioned and has been deleted 3 times as well as many other articles.

Can you kindly explain why (for the third time) Thanks Khalsaburg (talk) 12:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss points on pages. Do not make disruptive edits. Do not discuss on other editors pages. Regards.--Sikh-history (talk) 12:57, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask. Right now I have finals, so I won't be too active for the next two weeks.

I do have one question - the page on Mercy Otis Warren keeps being vandalized. Is there any way to get only members the ability to edit it?

Your reverting of my Mike Tenay edit

[edit]

I am sorry that I did not state a reason for the edit to the Mike Tenay page, but if you look at my edit you will see that I erased the comment because it was irrelevant to the article. Whether or not it was "one of the best pay-per-views of all time" is largely irrelevant because it has little to do with the gentleman. While you could definitely argue that too much of the paragraph was erased, I believe that the aforementioned statement did not belong. Thank you for your time.--69.125.110.109 (talk) 00:45, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are receiving this message because you are listed as an active participant in WikiProject Meteorology, WikiProject Severe weather, and/or WikiProject Non-tropical storms. I have made a proposal to start an official assessment page for these three projects, under the WP:METEO banner. Since this would need significant participation to work properly, I'd like input from as many interested parties as possible (even those who may not watch the project pages), so please visit the discussion here and leave your thoughts/opinions. Please Help!

[edit]

Hello Andy,

This is Thendral Muthusami (talk) 12:21, 3 March 2009 (UTC) I need your help in adding internal link to Cryogenic to here:[reply]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Resurrection_of_Jimber-Jaw

The story turns about an experimental aviator and a cryogenicist.

There is no mention of a cryogenicist in Cryogenic. To avoid red links, I just added the definition of a cryogenicist to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryogenic

But, it s not working, I mean I'm unable to link cryogenicist of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Resurrection_of_Jimber-Jaw to Cryogenic. It's still showing up as a red link. (I removed internal linking now)

Can you please help? Thanks Thendral Muthusami (talk) 12:21, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
