Welcome!

[edit]

Hi Atacama, from me as well--I hope you're having a good time with Wikipedia so far. I noticed you just created an article at Manolo Cárdona that doesn't seem to go anywhere--just a red link. I wanted to check with you before deleting it; what are you planning to put up?

Happy editing! --Dvyost 07:05, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

was trying to fix the spelling of Cardonas to include the accent on the a

I've gone ahead and changed the article to a substub based on the Gitanas article for now--if you know more about it and can expand it though, go for it! Just remember to always mention your sources (WP:CITE). Good luck, and happy editing! If you have any questions, just leave a note on my talk page. Best --Dvyost 07:13, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Help!

[edit]

How do i change the title to the Fourth & Town article, it is actually spelled, 'Forth and Town.

Normally you'd click on the "move" button up there--but in this case, the proper spelling, "Forth & Towne," already has an article. What I've done instead is merge your information there and make a redirect. It's very important that you check the spelling before you put up the article next time! Just go to Google and make sure you have it right. Good luck! --Dvyost 21:50, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

my personal article

[edit]

how do i get someone to write it for me. cuz if i do its kinda bias

Just write it yourself. You don't have to be worried about that on your user page. Pretty much the only things discouraged on your user page are attacks on other users and copyright violations. Your user page starts with "User:", ths means it is in the user namespace. Proper encyclopedia articles are in the main namespace and do not have a prefix. Some other namespaces are "Wikipedia:" for things about the project like policy, and "Template:" for templates.
By the way, if you post to this page, only users who have it watched will see it. If you want a faster answer, you should ask at the help desk like you did earlier. --GraemeL (talk) 02:25, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yerba mate

[edit]

Why do you think yerba máte is the right spelling? In Spanish, the accent is both wrong and unnecessary, as is a palabra grave that ends in 'e'. In Portuguese is mate. In English, it is either mate or maté (see article for details). In French is maté. And FWIW in Guaraní/Avañe'ẽ it's Caä. Let me know, otherwise I'll revert. Regards, User:Ejrrjs says What? 01:12, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

im from chile and there its máte MAHteh not maté m'ahTEH

En Chile, como en el resto de Latinoamérica, valen las mismas reglas gramaticales para el español. Saludos, User:Ejrrjs says What? 01:55, 22 January 2006 (UTC) oye güey, todas las marcas de máte, p.ej. Taragüí y Ñandú lo escriben así.[reply]

Ñandú...I don't know it.
This is the official website of "Establecimiento Las Marías", producers of Taragüí...they spell it 'mate'
A google search on "yerba mate" site:.cl gives back Chilean sites with the same spelling
My guess is that it might be a spelling mistake on the importer label, if you've seen it in a package bought in the States.

disambiguation page

[edit]

how do i create a disambiguation page, for example i want to create one for Ñandú to diferenciate between Ñandú (birds also known as rheas) and Ñandú (the brand of mate) Atacama 11:07, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my user page

[edit]

i want someone to write my page about me, for me. i DO NOT want to do it myself. Is there anyway to make this happen? Atacama 11:07, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe there is a formal place to ask for that. And most users don't edit someone else's userpage. Plus it would be difficult for someone who doesn't know you to write about you. - Akamad 20:37, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi - Linking to articles in different language wikipedias, like Spanish, is done with Wikipedia:Interlanguage links. These are typically added at the end of the article (like categories). The one you asked about would look like [[es:Dramaturgo (profesión)]]. -- Rick Block (talk) 16:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary

[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 7% for major edits and 72% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 46 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 06:30, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Seamless integration, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
