Black Percent Map

Hello -- thanks for your note about my map, [1]. I've double-checked my data and I think everything is correct. The >5% area you see in eastern Oregon is not in Baker County, but in northern Malheur County, Oregon (my data is aggregated by Census Tract, not by county). My guess would be that many of the 287 black residents there are associated with the Snake River Correctional Institution. The Census counts prison inmates at the location of the prison, not at the inmates' family homes -- see [2] for more information. If you see any other anomalies I'm happy to investigate, but my data comes straight from the Census, and the legend is correct. Best wishes, Citynoise (talk) 23:23, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
