Speedy deletion nomination of PickYourTrail
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on PickYourTrail, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 18:47, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
- Asrafali, I saw your message on Ritchie333's talk page. I am not an administrator, and can't find a Google cache of the article, so I don't know what it looked like. But I see that an article was already deleted last year, and that Pickyourtrail has also been deleted twice, once after a deletion discussion. So experienced editors do seem to have found the articles overly promotional. We can't have articles on everything, so we basically include articles on topics that have been written about by several others; as a rule of thumb, three independent newspaper articles, books, or films or TV broadcasts, or substantial portions of any of those. And the article needs to be based on what they say, with citations ("verifiability"). There are various specialized guidelines; I take it this is a company of some sort? In that case, have a look here. If you still believe the topic is notable, I strongly suggest using the Articles for creation process: that means experienced editors will look at the article and identify what improvements it needs, and it will only "go live" when one of them judges it's ready, which makes it far less likely it will get immediately deleted again. In particular, because we are an encyclopedia and not an advertising platform, we try to write articles as neutrally as possible, and many editors have a hair trigger about "business speak", so it can be quite hard for someone used to writing enthusiastically to tone it down as is required here. As I say, I can't see the deleted versions of the article, so I don't know how much it was that that was the problem, or whether there was a lack of references demonstrating notability as we define it. So again, I'd strongly suggest using Articles for Creation if you decide to try again. And one more thing; I'm being called away to co-walk a dog: don't talk about "us", because every account must be one person only, and articles don't belong to the company/movement/group. I hope that helps a little bit? Yngvadottir (talk) 19:08, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

. MER-C 17:11, 7 March 2020 (UTC)The article Pickyourtrail has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable company, the references seem to be largely churnalism.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. creffett (talk) 03:46, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
