Typically, an academic with 2.5k+ citation would have been accepted without a doubt. But [1] as we see here, max of the citations are because of one paper in which he is one of the many authors and hence fails WP:Academic C1. If the creator feels that anyother criteria is applicable, it can be discussed.

Nomination of Maxwell Smith for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Maxwell Smith is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
