Great Irish Famine
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you.--Domer48 20:49, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Please do not add content without citing reliable sources. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your recent edit appears to have added incorrect information, and has been reverted or removed. All information in the encyclopedia must be verifiable in a reliable published source. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them. I would like to point out to you the three revert rule, which you may be about to break. Stop and consider your actions. --Domer48 15:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Edit war
[edit]You appear to be engaged in an edit war on the Great Hunger article. Please stop. Concerns about sources may be raised on the article talk page, and if this does not resolve the matter, the dispute resolution process may be employed. Continuing to edit war will result in you being banned from this page, and perhaps also blocked. If you have not already done so, I advise you to familiarise yourself with the arbitration committee's rulings at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Great Irish Famine. Regards, Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:50, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Drochshaol
[edit]Hi, you continue to remove this term from the great famine article, without cause. You claim in your reversion that it lacks verification, which is untrue as I've provided qualified verifiable references in the Talk page, and a little effort on your part with a search engine such as Google would turn up as many references as you need to satisfy yourself.
- On the Talk page you make a different point, in that you state that that there's no source for it meaning "the bad life". I never said it did, but to anyone that can understand written Irish, it's a simple matter to translate as Droch = bad and Saol = Life. Try it yourself in your favorite online Irish translator if you have no other alternatives to translation. I don't know what your point is, but in any case, I didn't include this translation - but it didn't stop you reverting.
- You also claim that my second link doesn't provide a reference. If you click on the "more" link, the javascript will show you the link.
- You latest removal was on the grounds of WP:Verifiability. Perhaps you don't have access to Google - although you do appear to have access to the internet if you're reading this and checking the references I've provided - but 20 seconds of using Google will provide you with many references. I've provided two, where one is all that's required. The term is verified. Do a little research on Google if you want different references that the ones I've provided.
- Your final point is that Drochshaol doesn't mean "the great hunger" either. Again, nobody said it does. The point being that Drochshaol is one of the terms used, in the Irish language, to refer to the famine.
Finally, be careful about breaching wp:3rr. You've already been warned about edit warring on this article, and also be aware that you can be blocked for edit warring even if you haven't reverted 4 times in 24 hours. --Bardcom (talk) 14:49, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Page ban
[edit]In view of your continuining edit war at The Great Hunger, specifically this edit after I had asked you to cease from such behaviour, you should consider yourself banned from editing The Great Hunger for one week. You may continue to Talk:The Great Hunger page at this time. Please observe this restriction. You will be blocked with no further warning should you edit the article before 15:00 UTC on 2008-06-13. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:19, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- You violated this page ban to continue to remove the content in question. You have been blocked for 72 hours. When you return, please be aware that the page ban is still in effect. Any further infractions will result in a longer block. This has been logged at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Great Irish Famine. Daniel (talk) 22:11, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Please add these or the information that you added might be removed.

- "COI editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote your own interests or those of other individuals, companies, or groups." What relevance has that to my edit?
- POV: What POV am I advocating? I corrected a John Wayne quote.
- OR: the flawed quote I edited was OR.
- Your points are irrelevant. If you think the unsourced misquote that I edited belongs on that page, be my guest and restore it. Asmaybe (talk) 20:12, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Try taking the time to learn how to format references properly:

- I've replaced a flawed quote with an accurate one, and given a source where there wasn't one. Officiously, you've managed to squeeze a negative out of that edit.Asmaybe (talk) 19:49, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 19
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Operation Medina, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Winter Soldier. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that using multiple accounts is allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sockpuppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. |

Request reason:
I haven't edited any page other than what's listed on my contributions page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Asmaybe
What I wanted to edit was the line - On 11 November, the Russian and Turkish defence ministers signed a memorandum of understanding last week to create a joint monitoring center in Azerbaijan - by deleting 'last week' from the sentence. It's repeating 'On 11 November'. This in the Turkish-Russian Peacekeeping section. Maybe you could do that for me?
Decline reason:
This is not an unblock request. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:57, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
It isn't true that my account was set up as a sockpuppet. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that, nor have I had the wish to do so.
It seems to me you should address how someone's account can be taken over by someone else here on Wikipedia.
How can I prevent this? Asmaybe (talk) 15:51, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You seem to be saying that someone else operated your account; if so, it will remain blocked as compromised. As for sockpuppetry, this is a checkuser block, meaning it is supported with technical evidence, so sockpuppetry is not in doubt. 331dot (talk) 17:45, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
