Social edits!
[edit]Okay, there's a stop to it now – I can't risk getting blocked. Ashnard Talk 17:44, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
So what should we talk about? Do you know, that Ryulong character has stopped me from editing my own page. Fortunately I can still edit without logging in so I'm able to complain and your talk page unfortunately was the first place that sprang to mind. But now I'm blocked indefinately and I can't even access my own page so how am I suppose to do anything to get unblocked? I could be stuck in this editing limbo forever. I just want those Administrators to notice my plight so that maybe one of them who has more than half an ounce of common sense can take pity on me and aid me in my hour of need. Listen to me, I am becoming quite hysterical. Sorry Ashnard, I'm probably getting you into trouble. Don't worry, this is probably the last you or anyone else for that matter will hear from me as I've most likely got myself blocked forever now but frankly it needs to be put down in words that those people can understand. Anyway, ciao.
- YourLord, the admin stated at the end that you could e-mail him to appeal and he provided a link to the e-mail. That's the only thing you could do though. :( Remember, I'm always here to help or give advice. Hope it goes well for you. Ashnard Talk 17:07, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Yes I did try clicking on the link at the end of the E-Mail but it didn't actually work. They're still ignoring me. Thanks anyway, Ashnard.
Then I all I could do is relay a message from you to Ryulong explaining your plee. Technically, these are not social edits as I'm trying to help you so this can't be deleted unless that is a rule infringement. Ashnard Talk 05:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Re: Thanks
[edit]Greetings, Ashnard. No, I don't really think that anything personal has happened between YourLord and I. As you might remember, I already warned you two that I would take action if you continued to chat; and when you did continue in spite of what I said, I felt that alerting an admin was the best thing to do under the circumstances. I was under the impression that since you ignored my warning, you did not respect me, thus leading me to believe that any further attempts on my part to keep you two out of trouble would end in a similar manner. YourLord's language was part of the problem. You see, when you observe someone using language that you do not approve of and consider rude, would they not lose some of your respect? I did not intend to offend either of you by asking an admin to help fix an abused Talk page. If our situations were reversed, I am sure one of you would have done the same thing. If you wish to discuss this further, I will be available. -- -- Gravitan 23:58, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Okay, now that we've broken the ice a little, a few things here. YourLord, I don't know what you're talking regarding your block. That was in no way my doing; you got blocked by yourself. And the thing that really got me on your page is when you made an edit through Ashnard. That is absolutely not allowed. And I also understand that you two were discussing your matters in friendly tones, but to someone who just stumbles across your page, it would seem very much like you were just chatting, which you were for quite a while. I'm sorry if you think what I did was unfair, but as I said, I did what I felt was best at the time; and in doing so, I most likely prevented the two of you from getting into even more trouble. Ashnard, I always thought that you were a conscientious editor, so don't go thinking that you have lost my respect; you just need to do as you said you would do. I think that about clears up this matter; if you wish to discuss it further, I will be available. -- -- Gravitan 11:42, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
My apologies. I wasn't accusing you of getting me blocked, it's just that you said that myself and Ashnard were using the page in an unsuitable manner and alerted Ryulong or whatever his name is, to the problem. And yes I admit we were chatting for quite a while but we did stop when you asked us to and proceeded to discuss articles which we felt needed improving. Perhaps to one who just "stumbles" across the page it did look just like small-talk but I considered your move to be unfair because we were obeying your instructions. That's all. Sorry for making an edit through Ashnard, maybe that was a tad naughty but in my defence it was a perfectly reasonable edit and one which I felt needed making. I'm not attempting to justify it before you attack me for that as well, I'm merely stating my reasons. And while we're all here might I humbly ask for an exact date to be set for my block to expire?
What an understanding fellow, cheers Gravitan. I do actually regret and apologise for that once when I edited for YourLord even though I did put an end to it and say it was just for once. YourLord , you'll have to contact an admin on that IP asking for something to sort this out. I think they'll still request for you to clean-up some articles first. Ashnard Talk 15:35, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I alerted Ryulong because I felt that you were abusing your Talk page, and apparently he agreed. And from what I recall, you did not stop chatting after I warned you what I would do. If you want to talk to Ashnard that much, then you should use e-mail instead of using your page in a manner that could get you in trouble. Wikipedia is not a forum, and should not be used like one. And your edit through Ashnard was more than a "tad" naughty, yes, and that was partly Ashnard's fault for agreeing to do it. Unless there are dire circumstances involved, you should never at any time make an edit through someone else; it is unfair to them because you both get in trouble if you're caught. And I do not attack people for trying to justify what they feel, so I don't know where you came up with that idea. About your block; I suggest that you continue trying to contact Ryulong if you want a date, because I can't help you there. -- -- Gravitan 15:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
To clear things up, I did say immediately after that edit that I wouldn't do it again and I wasn't pretending that I done it on my own intention (as in, not my edit). I did forget about your warning or not see it, I wasn't disrespecting you. To be honest, towards the end we were mostly discussing getting YourLord off the ban – although that doesn't excuse the previous edits. Ashnard Talk 15:54, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Indeed you did, Ashnard. And Gravitan I don't want to talk to him that much (no offence Ashy) it's just when I get talking to someone I find it hard to stop and Ashnard happens to be a good listener. And futhermore I have apologised for my edit through him, it won't happen again. Sorry for accusing you of attacking me by the way, I just feel slightly defensive that's all. I wouldn't know if we stopped chatting immediately after you asked seeing as the entire conversation has now been erased from my page. My memory's a little rusty but I do seem to remember we were discussing improving pages. Yes, I shall as you say appeal to Ryulong. That is how it's spelt isn't it?
He's stated that you need to contact the e-mail if you can. Ashnard Talk 06:26, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Smart vs. great AI
[edit]Well I'm not going into an edit war because of this, but AI just isn't used the same way as intelligence proper. It's a term just like algorithm or method or strategy. If you say smart AI or dumb AI, everyone will know what you mean. Great AI is just confusing.—Graf Bobby 20:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Unblock
[edit]They're just ignoring me now. I've E-Mailed them twice and they have blatantly ignored me. It's just pure insolence. They've probably forgotten I'm even here. Fools.
Take it up with Ryulong. They really shouldn't be ignoring you like that. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:39, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, I quite agree. I have twice left a comment on that twerp Ryulong's talk page alerting him to damage being done to the discussion page for the Superiority complex article but both times he has just removed the comment and ignored it. Obviously suffers from bit of a superiority complex himself. Doesn't even bother to thank me for pointing it out to him. I'm trying to be as much help as possible as an Anon to earn the right to get unblocked but my every attempt just goes unnoticed. Oh, pass the tissues. YourLord Talk 01:29, 17th June 2007 (UTC) *sniffle*.
Okay, I'll take it up on his talk page. Ashnard Talk Contribs 07:55, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Look on Ryulong's talk page to see the discussion YourLord. Ashnard Talk Contribs 08:41, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your assistance. Much appreciated. I did not abuse that link he gave me by conversing solely with you, I used it to contact the Administrators and ask them to anull the block saying that I would improve my conduct but they chose to reject it. Looks like I'll be blocked for good. Anyway, not to worry, I'm not your problem. I just felt I had to have a moan. I'm done now.
YourLord Talk 12:08, 17th June 2007 (UTC) in every sense of the name.
Is this good bye then? Ashnard Talk Contribs 10:58, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Apparently so. Looks like I'm stuck as an Anon forever.

Well, goodbye. We can't have social discussions. Ashnard Talk Contribs 19:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Goodbye Ashnard. We will not meet again. But before I go, best of luck in your exams. YourLord Talk 12:58, 17th June 2007 (UTC)
Cheers, it was nice knowing you. I wish the best of luck for youin the future. My two exams that I took today have gone well – I'm almost certain that I've got an A* in Maths. I'm not certain about Science though. Ashnard Talk Contribs 16:24, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Ganon referencing
[edit]Hi. You're right, I'm not sure how to reference my edit. I got my information from these screenshots taken from the Japanese version of the game. Gurko 15:54, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, it's now referenced. Ashnard Talk Contribs 08:42, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Fire Emblem characters
[edit]Any that have no significance outside of the series should be merged (pretty much all of them besides Marth and Roy). I'll get around to dealing with them eventually, but it probably won't be for a while. I would encourage you to merge them if you feel like it. TTN 21:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm really hesitant to merge a Lord or major antagonist page. The thing is, the FE community is now dead in Wikipedia with Tedius and Hailinel going; basically leaving me, a few IPs and some random users every now and then. So there's nobody to consult with. Whenever I raise a merge proposal, nobody responds at all. I'm actually contemplating compiling a "List of Lords in Fire Emblem" and "List of antagonists in Fire Emblem" when I get my school break. I think it should be until then that there is a major overall. I won't object to any merges meanwhile, though. Ashnard Talk Contribs 21:56, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, you can always just go with the "silence equals consensus" approach if you want. Anyways, those lists would be rather redundant. They really wouldn't contain any more info than a character list would, so it just be the same information in two places. I might look at some fairly soon, I guess. TTN 22:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- That's what I have been doing unfortunately. See the bottom of Talk:List of characters in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Talk: List of characters in Fire Emblem (Game Boy Advance). No response=Ashnard dictatorship. The Roy (Fire Emblem) and Marth (Fire Emblem) are pretty much in a mess, so I'll have to fix that in my school break. I have no free time available right now with coursework and everything. With the list, you could cut out the information from the respective character lists and then direct it to the new list. The information would be in one place. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 06:24, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- It should be fine if it's redirected. If you're familiar with the character, you should probably do it because I don't feel like trying to summarize that mess right now. TTN 20:09, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Cheers; it was only released in Japan, so I don't know her. It's silly, one part says she's the most popular Fire Emblem character, but that may be Tedius' bias coming through. I'll do it anyway, though. Ashnard Talk Contribs 20:13, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- My brother needs this for his work now, so I'll finish cutting it down and then merge it by tomorrow. I'll leave a merge proposal on the talk page just to make sure no-one is too bothered. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 20:22, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Everything's done now, basically. Some things just need to be cut down further. Ashnard Talk Contribs 16:17, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I really don't know. It may be possible to use a citation tag for it, but I sort of doubt it. If it is obvious stuff like "a does b", you'll be fine leaving it until reviews and stuff come out after it's released. You really only need to bother if you're looking for GA status or something. TTN 17:22, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would go for one that has been released, so you can get some development and reception information. That is the best way to improve video game articles. TTN 17:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, well, you may want to try looking at previews or something for information. Otherwise, you probably don't need to cite everything. You can probably still wait while trying to obtain GA status. TTN 17:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

With regards to the above accusation
[edit]Editing as an anon having been blocked is hardly cause to be considered a sock-puppet. After all I'm still denied the privelages of a registered user. A sock-puppet is someone who maintains several accounts simultaneously. YourLord Talk 19:05, 17th June 2007 (UTC)
- YourLord, if you're editing as a banned user, you shouldn't really be using your signature like that, because technically, you're not editing as YourLord. Take it up with the admins if you want the "sockpuppet" label removed. Ashnard Talk Contribs 12:44, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Normally I would write my name as Anon. I'm just signing it like that so you all know who I am. I suppose I should really stop editing altogether if I want the sockpuppet label removed but it's quite addictive unfortunately and I doubt it would be removed even if I did stop editing because those so-called administrators are so concentrated on people who are misbehaving they don't pay any attention to people who actually are behaving.
- Try restating that you're here for good; give an elaborate explanation of what you'd like to edit in the future and that you won't vandalise. Maybe they'll be lenient. Ashnard Talk Contribs 19:27, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

With regards to External Link Addition
[edit]I've been meaning to write something in your talk page for a while, and whilst this isn't how I'd like to start, I guess everyone has to start somewhere... I'm not sure if you were being bitter in your last comment (it's hard to tell on the Internet, along with sarcasm), but I had edited out part of my last comment.
To be honest, I wasn't exactly feeling at my best, but I suddenly changed around not long after posting that comment. When I said I could write better pages, I could have, but after checking those two pages I realised that I could not have. At that time anyway. I respect the work that those authors put into those sites (there's some things that you can tell were well-researched). I suppose I was bitter myself that my own site isn't getting much recognition.
For example, the way things are going, I don't see how I could put my site on the Fire Emblem frontpage of Wikipedia. However, that is fine- I didn't contribute to Wikipedia so that I could. Anyway, I think I kind of lost the point of what I originally wanted to say... That is I have a good deal of respect for you, for your efforts and many contributions, and I just wanted to explain a bit about myself so that you wouldn't misunderstand.
Also, I must have forgotten to mention it, but it's fine to remove the History of Fire Emblem. As you said, it is used as a reference already. At first I thought it was pretty obviously implied, but I should have been more specific. However, it doesn't matter too much, since it should have already been removed by you. Aveyn Knight 22:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, that's fine. I was just checking that I wasn't being over-sensitive or something. Also, you weren't the only person that was just about to go to sleep.
- Hopefully this doesn't sound like I'm suddening turning around, but my opinion still stands that there could be better pages than both. Apart from a couple of well-researched parts (such as the BS Fire Emblems, and about Intelligent Systems), most of those sites contained basic information that most experienced players/fans should know. Perhaps the problem is that most of those fans only write in message boards, and not their own site. Also they usually only write in-depth/faq material and not basic (not saying as a deregotary term) information such as those.
- Actually I read more of Fire Emblem at Hardcore Gaming 101, and it is very good (admittedly I only skimmed through it yesterday). If it wasn't for the ads, it would be better than History of Fire Emblem in almost every way. It will take a lot of effort to match, let alone beat. Aveyn Knight 14:48, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Normally I don't write much basic-level content, but I would like to write a better history/description than those sites. If I manage to finish it, it could be considered for referral or an external link, right? However it will take a while, and I don't know if my interest can hold out until the end- that's another reason why I respect the authors.
- Another problem, which I should have mentioned earlier, is incorrect information, which I saw quite a few of on those pages. From memory, one of those pages got the names of the Monshou no Nazo Orbs wrong and mentioned the Life Orb shards instead of Star Orb shards. Also I'm pretty sure you do not need the Fire Emblem to use the Falchion. I checked the script of Ankokuryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi and I didn't see any reference. It might be in Monshou, but I don't remember seeing a reference and that would be in the wrong section. Anri, Cornelius and Marth in SSBM could use the Falchion just fine without the Fire Emblem...
- ...Which leads me to the case of FE Online being used as a reference. Again, that page seems to contain basic information (although, admittedly, there isn't much you can write about the Fire Emblem), but is referred because its the only such page out there. However, not anymore. I would appreciate if you could refer using this page, along with removing the Falchion statement. The page can also be used to reference Seisen no Keifu's Fire Emblem, which few people seem to know about.
- Wow, another big block of text. Aveyn Knight 12:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see anything wrong with short messages. Now my overly long messages, I am quite worried about...
- About the Falchion statement, I also meant to say- If it does turn out to be correct, I'm sure people can add it again. Hopefully they will add a reasonable source or explanation (unlike the unsourced and mysterious statement that Akaenia and Jugdral are linked in a different page- I actually believe that, but I would really like a source/confirmation).
- Yeah, the page is from Serenes Forest. It is actually hosted outside the main site, which appears to suffering some downtime every other day. I know that external links/references should be widely available.
- Also I don't know too much about the Fire Emblem TCG. Well, I do know about it, but I don't know how to play it. I don't think an explanation on the whole rules of the game is needed, so I'll work on something.
- Anyway, I'll finish off with this page. It is my attempt at trying to write some basic information for Thracia 776. Since I'm hoping for these pages to be linked in the future, I would appreciate some feedback. I know most of the game myself, but that can be problematic, because I'm writing for somebody else and not myself. I think I quite like it and dislike it at the same time. I have to admit, some of the wording is really terrible, but it will be improved later. Aveyn Knight 17:40, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks. The feedback is very useful. I didn't think of any of those points, although I did consider fusing some of the features, like statistics. However they became too unwieldy, so I ended up seperating them. I'll rework the page a bit more once I get the other game pages done. I think I've been working on Seisen no Keifu for a whole day now.

- I don't think there are any English sources for the Fire Emblem TCG. It seems to be overlooked, which is surprising seeing as its fairly recent (I even remember anticipating some of those expansions). Most of the information can be found on the official site, such as the characters. If all else fails, you could use this page. The problem is that (as expected) it's worded pretty much the same as what I wrote for Wikipedia, so you might want to reword what I wrote here- just in case plagiarism is suspected. The next GA attempt
[edit]Alright, I'll bear that in mind. I was kind of guessing there would be an attempt at a new Fire Emblem GA soon. However, to be honest, Blazing Sword doesn't really interest me. I'll see what I can help out with anyway. Aveyn Knight 13:11, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

- No. YourLord could have requested an unblock, but he did not and instead the two of you spent your time chatting on his talk page. I was notified of this and took the proper action. YourLord was recreating content that had been deleted many times before. There is no reason he should be unblocked after this short lived action. Goddess of Dawn question
[edit]I'm not sure who to go to, so I thought I'd ask for your opinion. As you may know, Rajaion, from Path of Radiance, died in the final chapter. I noted that down in the Goddess of Dawn characters page, but it has been changed four or five times already (to he survived). It seems to have been changed by different users, although I remember one user changed it at least twice.
Now, I'm pretty sure multiple reverting isn't the best way to go (which I've been doing). However I can't seem to get a point across- I've already mentioned my reasons for reverting in the Edit summaries, and I also wrote a notice in the Discussions page (which I sometimes point to in the Edit summaries). However people continue to revert my edit.
So, I was wondering what the best solution is. I don't see the Path of Radiance characters having the same problem. So I don't think the problem is that Goddess of Dawn hasn't been released in English yet. I don't think its vandalism either, but I don't know... Aveyn Knight 20:00, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was thinking the same, about there being not much to do. I'll try the invisible comment, thanks. Aveyn Knight 12:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Ashnard Talk Contribs 13:00, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Ugh.
[edit]Will you leave me ALONE?
- I don't care that much about Fire Emblem. I suggested merging Ashnard because I was merging articles, and then I suggested moving FE because I was trying to change VG naming conventions.
- I am not doing ANYTHING wrong. No one is obligated to respond to ANYTHING on their talk page, and by that fact, no one can be reported for not responding.
- Don't think you're special - I've ignored people before for a short amount of time. I always attempt to respond to posts, but not when the poster bothers me with their disdain over my delay. - A Link to the Past (talk) 17:09, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- I find your last comment illogical. How can I be bothered in the first place if you always try to respond? This "try to respond" thing is a lie anyway. I've checked, and you make many other contributions subsequent to the original post. End of discussion. I'll just learn that any posts that you do make regarding articles must be in jest. - Um, dur? I don't ignore people because I feel like it, I ignore people because I have more important things to do than participate in a discussion. - A Link to the Past (talk) 23:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

- You prioritise minor contributions above discussions at will — that's a "because I fell like it" attitude. Ashnard Talk Contribs 07:57, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Why are you even continuing the discussion; haven't you got more important things to do? Ashnard Talk Contribs 08:01, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Because you've been regularly harassing me about doing something that has never, is never, and will never be a violation of any policy or guideline. Get a life, and stop complaining because I "ignored" you. - A Link to the Past (talk) 21:49, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

- Get a life? Who's keeping a watch on my talk page to see if I've insulted them? Your argument's full of inconsistencies. I never stated that this was violating policy. I haven't been harassing you; I raised this:
- On the Ganon subject — reminding you not to ignore the message.
- On your a discussion about your Wikipedia etiquette — that's the point of the discussion
- In response about a comment you made on that discussion — I smelled hypocrisy on your part.
Refrain from making personal attacks too. Ashnard Talk Contribs 07:24, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Raven and Lucius
[edit]This has probably already come up but has anyone noticed the possible romantic link between Raven and Lucius? Being a faithful user of the badass Raven, this stunned me when i read the support conversations with Lucius. I did some studying and apparently the relationship is suggested even more in the Japanese transcript. SO with that said, should a note be added that there is a possible romantic link with an A support?
Also, maybe its just bad memory, but is it actually mentioned that Nergal is the Dragon siblings BIOLOGICAL father? --Dekubobo 17:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok but then what about the Nergal and his "kids"? Does it specifically say that he is the BIOLOGICAL father? I think he is, but then personal opinion isn't what wikipedia is about, is it? --Dekubobo 17:43, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Should we consult anyone who has more knowledge on this? I am aware that this is a touchy subject with the bigger fans. I'm afraid of a editing war happening over this. --Dekubobo 17:56, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
User: Aveyn Knight said Nils did call him daddy but I'd prefer actual proof of this, I'm currently playing the game again though it may take awhile for me to reach the conversation in question as my game decided a while back to erase itself for no good reason. Due to this I have to beat the eliwood story to get the Hector story. If we can find an actual creen though that would be great. Second off, whether or not it actually says he is the biological father, it is implied so a note about that should be added, such as how it states that Canas is implied to be Nino's uncle, or that it is implied that Jaffar had twin sons who were in FE6, etc. --Dekubobo 13:01, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
If you could that would be great, in the mean time I am fixing grammatical errors and such on the character page. I'm not that good with citation and such, but i can spell and write. It's up to you, I am able to access the gamefaqs page though as of this moment. --Dekubobo 13:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I just checked and the faq is incomplete. Also the implied text that i remember came during a secret chapter on Hector's storyline. So what actions should be taken on this? Is there another guide that we could use? If there isn't I may write one myself, though there is no way I'm going to take the time to find all the boss conversations or supports. --Dekubobo 13:20, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:Chars of PoR
[edit]Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I am hampered by the fact that I haven't played that game (having a GCN helps, which I unfortunately don't). I'd be happy to give a few suggestions though. First, get rid of 90% of those images. I'd say no more than 5 and it'd be great if you could find a nice group shot instead. Also, try to paragraph-ify the minor characters. A whole paragraph for each lead character (Ike, Black Knight, Ashnard, Elincia, Mist, maybe Greil, I'm not sure since I haven't played) but group the minor characters by country or something and put it into a paragraph. For example, "So-and-so and what's-his-name are mercenaries and best friends from Country X. So-and-so is a knight who vows revenge against Black Knight for killing his family. What's-his-name helps Ike to defeat Country Y because of a grudge, etc." Try to keep it to basic facts and motivations without going into plot summary. As always, I'll point to Characters of Final Fantasy VIII as a shining example of how a characters article should be written (since this is a list, the creation and impact sections aren't terribly necessary but if you can find enough sources to make a decent section, GREAT!). Also see List of Metal Gear Solid characters since it's pretty good too. Axem Titanium 00:22, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Also, another thing, don't feel the need to include every single character. Some are too minor to mention and it would be better to just remove them, lest the article become cluttered. Axem Titanium 00:24, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's very good. It goes without saying that it needs some script refs but the prose is great and not too long. If you can do that for the other sections, you'd be looking at a nearly feature-able list. Axem Titanium 15:08, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Ocarina of Time
[edit]You were the one asking about the epic novelization on the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time article, so I figured that you would be the best person to talk to about this. I finished the revision of the plot summary offline, but before I post it, I wanted to see what you think of it.
Begin Here
The game opens when Navi awakens Link to bring him to the guardian of his village, the Great Deku Tree. He informs Link that he is cursed, and near death. As the tree begins to wither, he tells Link that the wizard that cursed him seeks to conquer the land of Hyrule, and that Link must stop him. He orders Link to Hyrule Castle, and then withers. After reaching Hyrule Castle, Link meets Princess Zelda, who explains that she has been having dreams about the future of Hyrule, and that she foresaw Link's arrival. She believes that Ganondorf, a king from the desert region, is trying to obtain the Triforce, a holy relic that gives its holder godlike power. Zelda’s description of Ganondorf matches that of the wizard that killed the Deku Tree. To keep the Triforce from Ganondorf, Zelda explains to Link that he must obtain three Sacred Stones before Ganondorf gets them and uses them to enter the Sacred Realm, where the Triforce lies. Zelda plans for her and Link to use the Triforce to defeat Ganondorf. When Link retrieves all three stones, he returns to the castle to meet with Zelda again. At the gate, he sees Ganondorf pursuing Zelda on horseback. Spotting Link, Zelda throws the Ocarina of Time, another artifact required to access the Sacred Realm, into the castle moat. After Link retrieves the Ocarina, Zelda telepathically teaches him the "Song of Time", which, combined with the Sacred Stones, will open the door that leads to the Sacred Realm that houses the Triforce. Just beyond the door, Link finds the Master Sword, a magical sword that was made to fight evil. But just as he pulls the Master Sword from its pedestal, Ganondorf appears, having followed Link into the Sacred Realm and seizes the Triforce for himself. Seven years later, an older Link awakens in an ethereal room and is met by an elderly man named Rauru. Rauru informs Link that he was frozen in time for seven years until he was old enough to wield the Master Sword and defeat Ganondorf. Rauru then reveals himself as the ancient Sage of Light, one of the seven sages who protect the location of the Triforce. He tells Link that if he can find the six other sages, they will be able to imprison Ganondorf within the Sacred Realm. However, the sages are unaware of their identities because Ganondorf has conquered Hyrule and transformed it into a land of darkness. Link must rid the five Temples of Ganon's monsters, so that the power in each temple can awaken its respective Sage. Link returns to Hyrule and is met by a mysterious character named Sheik, who appears periodically to guide him in his quest. After awakening all of the sages, Sheik reveals himself as Princess Zelda in disguise. Zelda is the seventh and final sage. She tells Link that when Ganondorf took the Triforce, because his heart was unbalanced, that the Triforce split into three pieces according to an ancient prophecy. When this happened Ganondorf kept the Triforce of Power, Zelda gained the Triforce of Wisdom, and Link obtained the Triforce of Courage. Zelda bestows Link with the magical Light Arrows needed to defeat Ganondorf. Their reunion is cut short when Ganondorf traps Zelda in a crystal and transports her to his tower. After the remaining six Sages help Link enter the tower, Link engages in an epic battle with Ganondorf. At the end of the battle, Zelda and the other Sages use their combined powerdithem in the final to banish Ganon into the Sacred Realm, taking the Triforce of Power with him.
End Here
I know that there are no links or paragraphs in here; I will include them in the final edit. What do you think? Also, feel free to delete this from your talk page if your concerned about page size. Larrythefunkyferret 00:06, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Just to be sure, are you saying that I got kinda cut-happy? Because I was a little concerned about that. Larrythefunkyferret 00:06, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I got the impression from this line: Remember, I commented on the story—this needs expanding more urgently than the story needs shortening.: that my revision cut too much from the story. I used the term "Cut-Happy" in reference to the term "Trigger-Happy," meaning someone who likes to discharge his firearm a lot in a short space of time. Larrythefunkyferret 21:21, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
'Saright. I'll get some ideas from the Fire Emblem articles you got to Good status. Nothing helps me more than seeing what works. Larrythefunkyferret 21:39, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm out of ideas on how to expand that Gameplay section. If you still don't think it has enough, let me know and I'll personally tag it for expansion. By the way, do you think the plot summary has addressed the issues in the plot tag? Larrythefunkyferret 05:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
