The Kitchen Fears The Knight
[edit]- ...through the wonders of that oracle of all things Wiki -- the glorious Random article. Destiny and fate, good chronicler, destiny and fate. All hail the Swiss Knight. WBardwin 06:05, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
The knight fears the seafood
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Sunterra market, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. For more information about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, take a look at our Five Pillars. Happy editing!
Sorry about that. But seriously, now. --Frutti di Mare 22:33, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh such irony. If you take a look at the history of the Sunterra Market page, you'l find that the person who first added that content was not I. But a man you may have read about. He goes by the name of Dan "Danomight" Hall. Anyhow i'm not sure if it makes a difference that he was the one who wrote the stuff on the Sunterra webpage?...unless the copyrighted stuff was the picture, not the text.AshJW 00:38, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- Ah. I did look at the history, but had no way of telling that wasn't your IP. No matter. If Dan personally owns the copyright of that webpage, he can indeed release it under the GFDL for Wikipedia to use. But I wouldn't see it as worth the trouble, because I really would AFD it instead, and I'm sure it really would get deleted. I mean, an ad doesn't get much more blatant. I'm sorry, but don't expect any quarter on this one. I may have a soft spot for certain types of improper articles, but none at all for sneaked-in, commercial, promotional material. The only way to have Sunterra market stay on wiki is to rewrite it in a non-copyvio, NPOV way. A challenge, but perhaps not impossible for a man of your talents. Frutti di Mare 01:08, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- P.S. Picture? I haven't even looked at the image description page. I'm talking about the text, but I'll take a look at the pic, thanks for pointing it out. ;P If it doesn't have an appropriate tag, better than "Fair use", it will be promptly deleted, I'm afraid. --Frutti di Mare 01:08, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Swiss Knight
[edit]In regard to the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Swiss Knight you currently have two votes in this afd, the first is Don't Delete while your second vote is Delete. While you are more than welcome to change your vote, please use the html strikeout tags <s> and </s> to strike out one of your two votes and make it look like this . Please don't just completely remove what you have said. Else I fear that both of your votes shall be discounted. Thanks -- malo (talk-myedits) 02:17, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
AFD discussion closed
[edit]Hi. I've closed the AFD discussion about The Swiss Knight and determined that the result was Userfy. Consequently I've "moved" the page to your userspace by renaming it User:AshJW/The Swiss Knight. This means it's no longer a Wiki article, but a subpage of yours. Feel free to remove the "oldadf" box that I put at the top of the Talk page. Those boxes are obligatory for pages in the article namespace that have been through AFD, but I should think you can do as you like with your own subpage.
I'm sorry if the AFD process was upsetting. Old Frutti di Mare did warn you; I think he was trying to prevent just such a vote. I hope it hasn't put you off from continuing to improve your page, and that you may perhaps also consider some, uh, serious editing of the encyclopedia. You would be most welcome in both capacities. Best wishes, Bishonen|talk 19:49, 20 November 2005 (UTC).
- The Swiss Knight is a good effort -- showing strong imagery and organization. I'm glad it was retained in your user space rather than deleted. To honor the Knight, why not put it back up on your user page where we can find it? I look forward to working with you again -- there are a number of fun and creative articles and projects here. Give some of them a try. Best wishes! WBardwin 00:55, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Longinterior.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Longinterior.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 11:06, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
The file File:Mugsk.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
