RE:Deobandi
[edit]First of all, on Wikipedia it does not matter what faith you are, anyone is free to edit any article they please. Second, I am Pashtun, hence most of my family is Deobandi, and I have read quite a bit of their literature. Do not make threats or I will have you blocked. I have no problem with this edit, and this information is correct and I will not undo it. The issue was not so much with this list as it was with other changes. --♥pashtun ismailiyya 20:31, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- As far as pictures, censorship is not allowed on Wikipedia. We keep the pictures there because they are very common among Shi'a Muslims, even if some Muslims reject it. We also have pictures of the Prophet (AS), which are allowed on Wikipedia as well. You are correct it should be written where both Sunni and Shi'a can accept it, however we should go over differences too. You are more than welcome to make your suggestions at Talk:Fatimah. --♥pashtun ismailiyya 20:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:53, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Blocking Ar-Rumi Al-Baghdadi
[edit]Walyakom salaam brother, I do not see any user named Ar-Rumi Al-Baghdadi editing the Deobandi article on this page. Is it perhaps a different article? --♥pashtun ismailiyya 06:08, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- My family lived in Afghanistan till 1919, when we were forced to move to Pakistan. My parents later moved to the United States where I was born. --♥pashtun ismailiyya 21:35, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have to give him a warning before I can block. Please find a citation for your source (I know he is Sunni Hanafi, however you need to put a source there using the ref tag). If he takes it out after the source has been given, I will warn him. If he does it a second time, then I'll alert the administration about him, and they will block him. --♥pashtun ismailiyya 21:38, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- Start reading this section, and you will learn more about administrator alert as you learn the policies. --♥pashtun ismailiyya 05:24, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Fatimah. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Fatimah
[edit]You can't just remove sourced material like that on the basis that it will offend one or more groups. The idea of an encyclopedia is to present both sides and in this case the article is written mainly so the non-Muslim reader can get an understanding of Islam and the people associated with it. Removing material like that does not help them at all. In fact it verges towards Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not censored. If you think the material should not be included or re-written then please make your points at Talk:Fatimah. Thanks. - what is ur problem and who are you?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Asadakhtar26 (talk • contribs)
- The problem is that your recent edits are regarded as vandalism. Please read and understand WP:NOTCENSORED for a full and detailed explanation of why it is not appropriate to remove content simply because someone finds it offensive. Also, since you seem primarily concerned with Islam-related articles, I suggest you read WP:MOSISLAM for important details of how these topics are treated. Please understand that your most recent series of edits violate basic policy and are not considered acceptable. Further edits of this nature can (and probably will) result in your account being blocked. On the other hand, please do feel free to add constructive comments to the article talkpages; all positive contributions are welcome! Good luck and happy editing, Doc Tropics 19:00, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
