File copyright problem with File:Chera Emblem.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Chera Emblem.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:41, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia
[edit]Hi Arunvarmaother, welcome to wikipedia and happy editing. Your contributions to Kochi page are noted, and you have done a good job. I have reverted some of your edits because of the following reasons:
- Kochi page is a stabilized version which was once a featured article in Wiki. Including so many minute details in the article will increase the length of the article. Also it deviate from the intention of the article, i.e, to provide information in a high level and comprehensive. For more details, we are adding sub topics. For eg; Transport in Kochi.
- The detailed information should be added in the sub topics and not in the main article
- This article primarily covers city of Kochi, and for the greater UA we have Kochi Metropolitan area.
- Frequent changes and reverts in the article will lead to diminished authenticity.
- Please remember not to user peacock words to glorify or de-glorify the contents in the article. Such words may be challenged and removed. Also try to add valid citations for information.
Please leave a message in my talk page for any assistance. I will be happy to do that. Since the Kochi main page is now in a very stabilized version, please concentrate on sub articles. Thank you for your good work and happy editing again. --Samaleks (talk) 12:02, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Dear Arun, You stated that Kochi article lost its FA status due to vested interests. Can you please explain? What are those "vested interests"? Who ? and Why? The article lost its FA status because of overtoning the article. You can check the FA review comments for Kochi by fellow wikipedians. Since you are new to wiki, it may take some time to adjust with the "way of things" here. Please leave me a note, and I would be glad to assist. The transport related matters can be moved to the article : Transport in Kochi. In the article it is not stated that there are no KSRTC / JNNURM buses. It is stated that the public largely depends on Private buses, which is true till date. The details like how many JNNURM buses operates is not needed in the section. I will not argue with you, I am afraid that it is a wrong prejuidice from your side. The industries like FACT can be added in the article. Oneliners about FACT and Vallarpadam are there in the article. A full fledged detailing about those industries can be given in the sub article; and not in the main article. I appreciate that you wants the article to achieve FA status again. For that, you need to construct in a neutral manner and reaching consensus with other editors. Hope you understand. Thank you very much. --Samaleks (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2010 (UTC) Note: while replying, do not forget to put your signature after your edits in the talk page. The signature button is the 5th button from the left in your edit menu. Thanks, Samaleks (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Chera Emblem.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chera Emblem.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:08, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Sources for nicknames of Kochi
[edit]I have questions regarding two recent edits you made at Kochi:
- Why did you remove references from the infobox in relation to the nickname "Queen of the Arabian Sea" with this edit?
- Your recent edit to Kochi added this line: "[[Mahatma Gandhi]] used to refer the city as ''Epitome of Adventure''<ref>http://expressbuzz.com/Cities/Kochi/kochi-from-a-vantage-point/149015.html</ref>" with the edit summary as "Information is now sourced and has verifiable reference".
- This is actually a very weak reference - citing a newspaper/blog review of a book by "Tanya Abraham" with a claim that MK Gandhi said/used these specific words in reference to Cochin. A cursory search of Google books turns up three possibilities, two of which contain the sentence "The sea is an epitome of adventures" whilst a copy of Gandhi's works on a wiki at IIIT-Hyderabad says that Gandhi addressed a meeting in Cochin in 1925 and said: "Living on the seaside you are aware of what adventure can do. The sea is an epitome of adventures." Is it possible that this statement by Gandhi has been misunderstood as saying that Cochin is "the epitome of adventure"? I have commented out the relevant statements and left a similar request for information on Talk:Kochi. Green Giant (talk) 02:58, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
COK page information
[edit]Dear friend,
Regarding the flight to Delhi [which starts on 31st October], the flight number is AI 692/693 which is a pure Air India flight. You can check it on the website. It is not any code share flight, it will use the international side of Cochin Airport and hence I feel it should be placed along the Air India flights.
IC 465/466 on the other hand is an IC coded flight with no AI code, which therefore belongs to the Indian Airlines flight category.
To summarise, I feel pure AI coded flights (not an AI code share on IC flight)should be placed in Air India and IC coded flights under the Indian Airlines umbrella.
I hope I was clear in my explanation. :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by SQ412 (talk • contribs) 19:41, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
So called Vandalism
[edit]I have by mistake reverted edits regarding GoAir. I reverted your edits of removing the row "Air India operated by Indian" and renaming it as Air India. When I saw what revision was made by you, it clearly showed you renaming it as Air India. What I could not see was your inclusion of GoAir's new route. I realised that later and was about to revert it that by then you a great person call it as vandalism. Everybody makes a mistake. Remember when you have reverted edits and listed all IC destinations under AI inspite of giving a reason why not to? What do you call that deliberate act as? Fun? Stupidity? No, it's VANDALISM. Then why shouldn't that be on the talk page? So think twice before you talk and better delete that section from the talk page.
Abhishek191288 (talk) 16:19, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Think you've done great work in adding G8's new destinations? It's no. Here's why: DESTINATIONS ARE LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.

Thanks
[edit]Thanks for apologising. Now why not delete this section from COK talk page?
Regarding the DEL flight by AI, I know it's a 3 digit code but since it is operated using IC's A320s, let's leave it as AI operated by IC since wikipedia standards for airports lists the destinations of any airline based on the aircraft they use, ie, if they use their own aircraft, then the airline is listed as it is, but if they use aircraft of any other airline, then the airline name and then operated by "the airline the aircraft belongs to" is listed. Even I had several arguments with other editors and finally accepted it as AI operated by IC since wikipedia standards say so.

Recent Edits
[edit]As explained to you earlier, that CD does not have flights to BLR from COK.
- IC 501/502 is flown on the sector MAA-COK-AGX on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
- IC 503/504 is flown on the sector MAA-BLR-AGX on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Take a look at the schedule at AI domestic website.
It is clear that CD does not fly to BLR from COK. Do not make unreferenced edits. Further you keep posting each and every edit you make on the talk page of the airport which is unnecessary.
Abhishek191288 (talk) 18:35, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- FYI earlier there were only flights to AGX by CD. All CD flights today operate using an IC code whether they have a 3-digit or 4-digit code doesn't matter. When you look at the AI website for the schedules, all flights shown operating using an ATR or CRJ are CD flights. Flights shown operating using the A320 family are pure IC flights. Most airport websites do no update their info regularly and cannot be taken as reliable sources.
- Please try booking a flight from COK to BLR, it will show all the flights being operated using A320's. The flights IC 7501/7502 are the same as IC 501/502, they aren't different flights.
- The same AGX flight out of COK has been extended to MAA since September 24. CD also started AGX flights from MAA from SEp 24 on another sector MAA-BLR-AGX. There are no CD flights to BLR from COK. And lastly stop changing the airline as CD operated by IC. CD does exist but today operates using IC codes. It's just a matter of a few more months and all of these confusions will just disappear when AI and IC along with CD are merged into a single airline.
Have a look at this reference: AGX flights
You can make edits if you have a reliable source and not based on what you think.

WARNING for EDIT-WARRING
[edit]Please stop reverting constantly , as you are doing in Cochin International Airport. You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. If you revert/delete again unwantedly, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia without further notice. Please discuss any disputed changes on the talk page. Thank you.--Induzcreed (talk) 07:40, 4 November 2010 (UTC) Show one instance I deleted or edited as you mentioned.Everybody know you are here to fancify this page by writing whatever you think.
- One Page you are denying to accept some reference from a particular source and accepting as per your thinking in another.
- You are quoting references from public forums and blogs and from private websites, which are NOT accepted as AUTHENTICATED VERIFIABLE REFERENCES in Wikipedia.
- You are quoting outdated statistics(here say almost 4 years old) to prove your statements, which is not accepted. If you can provide ANY similar statistics.NOT different from the old one, then no issues.
- You are adding some details which are no works under process, but in proposals.Such proposals shall be supported by valid references, preferably recent ones.
- I still stick to the facts,as such if you can prove your statements then who have issue?Me not.
- Last but not the least, please remember this is an Encyclopedia which so many are referring to,not a personal blog to express to appraise a single individual more than enough(this can be seen in this page) or input the ideas of an individual as he thinks his own way
So better put solid citations wherever necessary and delete the remaining. Those can be added later once the references get. Also, delete the proposals and ideas. Those can also be put into once comes reality or nearing reality.Don't be adamant to so get all in one day.
I know you are very very new to Wikipedia Editing..So be careful. No need to send or give warnings to individual editors of blocking as you cannot do the block unless you are the moderator/admin.If so it will endup your blocking itself.
Thanks--Induzcreed (talk) 08:40, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Images on COK
[edit]Would it be good enough to maintain all the images at a resolution of 200px on COK? The reason I'm asking you is that some appear big and some too small. By doin so, all will appear at a same size.---Abhishek191288 (talk) 17:39, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Abhishek191288 (talk) 13:18, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- An article that several airlines want to begin new destinations out of COK does not prove that it's the seventh busiest airport.
- Kochi airport's duty free shops do not prove that the airport is the fourth busiest in terms of international traffic. And the reference given is dated back to December 2009. It cannot be considered as valid now.
- A person's blog cannot be taken as a valid source.
So think sensibly. When a citation tag is added, it does not mean that the person who added that is against the article. He/she is infact working for the betterment of the article. Learn to add relevant sources. Do not add a sources to claim some point which is totally irrelevant to the source. Moreover your neutrality point of view will be considered and reviewed if you again add such invalid sources to claim something else. Abhishek191288 (talk) 13:30, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Tvm airport.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Tvm airport.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:06, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I did not mention rediff.com or any online newspapers or AAI's website to be unreliable sources. Though you had mentioned these sources, they had nothing related to the statement for which you were providing the source.
- And yes a person's blog is an unreliable source. Anyone can write anything on their blog (even flase info) and these cannot be valid references.
- As explained to you clearly that when a citaion tag is added it is for the improvement of the article and not vandalism.
- Repeat again: Your NPV (neutrality point of view) will be reviewed. Remember that you are editing just one airport article and I edit many across India. So I definitely know what rules have to be followed during editing an article.
- Lastly why didn't you start an edit war when an admin removed Leh, Chandigarh as a destination of G8? When I removed it, you said it was vandalism. Remember that an admin can block you from making such any further edits if
1. You add destinations that require change of aircraft as a direct destination.
2. You add either unreliable sources or irrelevant one's (not being specific to the statement).
Abhishek191288 (talk) 02:45, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
If you were not sure of the fact, then why did you add it in the first place? And when I removed it, why did you call it vandalism?
- And coming to reading the articles, yes I do read them, else I'm not a foll to comment on them without any reason. Like for example, for the statement seventh busiest airport, you cited an article that talks about better arrival facilities like new arrival belts at the airport.
- Even I'm not here to start an edit war. And I never mentioned that I'm an admin, did I? And for your kind info, even I am very well aware that I cannot block you, but I can warn users for any wrongdoings or improper citations or unreferenced edits, and you too can do that!
- I'm not here to brag that I can do this and that. I'm here to improve articles for the betterment of those wanting to read them.

Charter Airlines
[edit]Dude,
You need to grow up. What I've noticed is you make edits purely on your thinking and not the way it has to be done. FYKI, charter airlines are not listed in an airport article.
You call the edit of this user as an attempt to vandalism? Dude he edits atleast about 50 airport articles across the globe and knows lot abut airlies and airports much more than you and I. It is obvious that he knows what he is editing, and definitely knows what has to be listed in an airport article. Abhishek191288 (talk) 15:36, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Duty free 7.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Duty free 7.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Cochin Duty Free
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Cochin Duty Free requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:Chera Emblem.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Chera Emblem.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:24, 1 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 13:24, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kerala Public Works Department
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kerala Public Works Department, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Austria156 (talk) 23:27, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
