[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Golden Temple. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Do not change the order of names. The article name is 'Golden Temple' in English Wikipedia and per guidelines and policies in English Wikipedia, we use it in the infobox name parameter, the first mention in the lead as well as throughout the article. - Golden Temple is an English Wikipedia article. Everything written in it are bound by the guidelines and policies laid out by Wikipedia, not SPGC or gurus. Our WP:COMMONNAME policy dictates us to use an article name which is the most commonly used name in "English Language". In this case it is "Golden Temple" not "Harmandir Sahib" or "Darbar Sahib". That is the reason why the infobox 'name parameter' (as in the documentation); first mention in lead as well as throughout the article we have to use the WP:COMMONNAME "Golden Temple". See the example - Germany. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:52, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

- Then add this → "The Golden Temple (also known as the " - back at the beginning which you removed here. You can keep the "Shri" part in "Harmandir Sahib". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:20, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- I can write Shri harmandir sahib also known as golden temple
- Which is perfect form for this otherwise darbar sahib is more important than golden temple after all foriegners you are telling about should know the right name not the name given by britishers in british rule after 1850 Arunjit singh05 (talk) 18:27, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- I cant settle this if you dont agree with it after all i belong to a sikh family and pretty much known about my religion Arunjit singh05 (talk) 18:29, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

As I said, this is an English Wikipedia, and it has its own set of rules. In English language, the name "Golden Temple" is most commonly used for it, hence the article name is Golden Temple and which is why the first mention should be Golden Temple in accordance to our policy WP:COMMONNAME. In Punjabi Wikipedia, the article name is ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ since Harmandir Sahib is the most commonly used name of the place in Punjabi language (not English language). Try to understand the difference. The naming has nothing to do with religion and people, but has everything to the policies of respective language Wikipedia (English vs Punjabi). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:38, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- Bro then provide me the reference for the name if i check the name of any other hindu mandir is name changed in english wikipedia or churchs name changed in punjabi
- Then Why you are doing this with harmandir sahib only I already told you this is a religious matter Arunjit singh05 (talk) 18:43, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- Name of any place is not in the bound of language in punjabi only punjabi readers which already know original name would see but on english page everyone would see the original name (You cant change the truth ) Arunjit singh05 (talk) 18:45, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- Google is also in english and it listed Shri harmandir sahib in english as well as punjabi on google maps and other paged source:google maps Arunjit singh05 (talk) 18:54, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- It is a simple case of mathematics. There are far more hits (in English) in Google for the term "Golden Temple" than "Harmandir Sahib". It is enough for Golden Temple to be the article name and the fist mention. Besides, 'Harmandir Sahib' is mentioned already. I don;t know why you are not abiding by the law of Wikipedia which has nothing to do with religion, people, country or an organisation. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:08, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- I am saying that article name is enough people who dont know origianl name can search golden temple and after clicking they would know the original name besides the name golden temple because harmandir sahib is main not also know. As
- and darbar sahib is central palce for sikh and if you mention that it is not connected with religion at that place you are wrong my friend. Anything connected with harmandir sahib is religious notmatter it is an article or someting else Arunjit singh05 (talk) 19:13, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- I'm saying that the naming policy of the article has nothing to do with religion, I'm not questioning the religious relevance of the article or the place. Understand the difference. It is our job to use the most common name of the subject matter in English literature which is 'Golden Temple'. It is not our job to tell people whether 'Harmandir' or 'Darbar Sahib' is more important than 'Golden Temple', which are already written in the WP:STABLE version [1]. Besides, it is not me only, most experienced users will oppose your changes, since you didn't seek WP:CONSENSUS at Talk:Golden Temple before changing a longstanding version of the lead. Note that Wikipedia is a collaborative project. You cannot make unilateral changes without seeking WP:CONSENSUS in the respective article talk pages, doing so will get your edits reverted in the future and may get you blocked. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:52, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- No worries truth is truth i am understanding you very well.
- If i got blocked for writing truth that will be ok for me.
- I know about that’s you work to do
- but i can’t do it
- thank you bro for the same
- Some people write the words in the wrong manner many times i correct it like dates related to my religion and information is also misleads. Because of you that your policy states that i did not changed the article heading.
- thanku for the same Arunjit singh05 (talk) 22:31, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
