Citations
[edit]Hi Artisan, I just wanted to let you know that all the content being added these days needs to include citations from reliable sources like books and articles. This allows it to be verified. Welcome aboard and let me know if you have any questions. I have a giant welcome template with lots of links and a spinning W that I love to add to new user pages. Let me know if you want it! - Okay, well Wikipedia definitely take some getting used to, but if you're willing to make a bit of an effort I'm happy to guide you through the process as best I can. The key to adding content is citations. If you want to read the official page it's here wp:citations, but basically you have to put the author, title, date and source (page numbers are nice too) inside this formatting <ref>Simpson, ''Bart Wikipedia rules'' January 8, 2008 The Springfield Tribune</ref>. The refs make it formatted so the citation appears in the references section to the reader, even though they are put in the article text. Your recent addition was reverted by another editor because it was unsourced and rather opinionated. If you go to google news or google books and search for Artisan, you can find some sources to use and then add content from those. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Here's a giant welcome template with various links that may or may not be helpful. You are welcome to delete it if and when you choose.ChildofMidnight (talk) 05:34, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- You can also put {{helpme}} and you question on this page and someone will respond. ChildofMidnight (talk) 05:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
You might find some sources here [1]. If they are in the public domain they are totally accesible. Access to other books varies. ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:50, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Artisans
[edit]Done. You can also add an external links section if needed. You might be interested in some of these other articles: Arts and Crafts Movement, arts and craft, handicraft etc. There's a lot of work to be done. :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:13, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Getting the articles to link to each other might be useful. This can be done by mentioning them in the text as wikilinks or including the relevant topics in a see also section. Articles aren't of much use if people can't find them... ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
