Hi Artinavedissian - I saw the note you left at Talk:Alexander Saroukhan and, from what you say, he does sound like an appropriate subject for a Wikipedia article (I haven't done any research of my own; I'm just going by what you said). To clarify, the article wasn't deleted because he was deemed to be unsuitable for Wikipedia, but because the article consisted only of his name, year of birth, and year of death. I would strongly encourage you to write a proper article about this man there, and, if he's as notable as you say, it should be kept. Please let me know if I can help you with anything. - Hi Steve Smith:
- I read your note. I saw on "info.com" several references about Alexander Saroukhan which are correct. I know that he was employed by the "El-Akhbar" daily Arabic newspaper in the '40's and 50's contributing by his caricature every day on a certain corner of that newspaper. I am a US citizen living in Los Angeles since 2000. Alexander Saroukhan's origin is Armenian. He was born in Batum, Georgia. You may find his name in the list of "Famous Armenians of Egypt". His published books "La Guerre" in French is all about World War II where you can see the caricatures of Churchil, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and many other leaders. I believe these books (Caricatures with narrations) must be available from well known libraries.
- Sincerely,
- Artin Avedissian
- I'd say go ahead an write the article, then, making sure that it's well-sourced. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 08:13, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
