Respond to Reviewer Thank you for your comments on my Wikipedia. They were insightful and helpful.
Lead: The author did not make any edits to the lead so it has not been updated to include new content about plant health and uses of raffinose. The author should include a brief description of the article's major section to give the readers a summary of the article. However, the lead does have a good leading sentence that is able to introduce the topic of the readers. The overall lead was well written and concise, however it included information about the raffinose enzyme not cleaving β-linked galactose, which is information not included in the rest of the wikipedia article. Therefore, the author should consider removing that part.
I added a sentence to the lead section that includes information regarding plant health. the sentence referring to cleavage of beta-galactosides like lactose was removed.
Source: All sources come from reliable secondary sources and are relatively new (mainly from 2022). The content also accurately reflects what the cited source says and does not seem to twist the information presented in the source. The sources are also written by a diverse spectrum of authors and all of the links work as well. However, the author can add a few more sources, as there does not seem to be any sources that back up the claims made in the first two paragraphs from the plant health section.
More sources were added to credit claims made, such as studies done on galactinol synthase in relation to plant stress response, as well as references for response to abiotic stress factors.
Organization: The sections are well organized in a sensible order. The author placed the added content about plant health under the subsection about the biochemical properties, which correlates well with the subject. It is also under the section about chemical properties, which allows readers to have a basic understanding of the chemistry of the compound first before delving into the application part of the topic. The content contains some minor spelling errors and grammatical mistakes, but it should be easily fixed with some proofreadings.
Minor grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes were fixed.
Images and media: The author did not add any new images. If possible, the author can include images of Galactinol synthase to further engage the readers and enhance their understanding of the topic.
While the comment to include an image of galactinol synthase is appreciated, I chose not to heed the advice. I do not think that an image of the enzyme itself would add to the readers understanding of raffinose or the enzyme's function. This would only serves as visual clutter to the article, and if structure of the enzyme were important to the reader, better information would be found by external sources rather than in this article.
