Great to see this new article. Since you seem new to Wikipedia you may be unaware of {{cite web}} to make excellent references - always easier to do this at the start that "back edit".
I've been a member since c1966, though haven't been back since about 1980, but I do have anecdotal information about that period - I annoyed the Cricieth Regatta Committee by winning the Cricieth Pursuit Race by a vast margin in my Tornado cat one year - the handicapper got the scratch boat's estimated time stupendously wrong that year, and I insisted they correct it the next year when I came, rightfully, in the middle of the fleet. The current handbook, which I've misplaced has a full list of commodore (I think), but that may not be valid to enter under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 without their consent.
I have little time at present, but I'll be more than happy to collaborate with you to help to create an excellent article from your very good start. I've made a change to the locations. Hmm, what was the Old Water Board?

[edit]Hi Tim. A bit confused. Are you Fiddle Faddle and TimTrent? Thanks again for your knowledge. Didn't expect such a response. Hmm, what was the Old Water Board? - I'm referring to the building on South Beach opposite the life boat station. Water Board is a bit of an Australianism. I don't know a lot about that period but heard Alan Smith talk at the recent anniverary of the new building, promply forgot most of what he said, but felt what I remembered was worth recording.
I don't think it's a problem posting the list of past commodores. It's a public office and the names are all there in the club. I'll get around to it some time.
I was hoping for some more information on the founding members. Their names are handwritten on the articles of association and may be wrong in places.
Finally you may be interested to know the Gull Island Race this year was won by a single handed cat, which turned up on the day and enjoyed reaches there and back and won by a mile. Ghost of your tornado perhaps.

- The FF/TT thing is a Wikipedia software oddity. I joined, and set my nickname to FF. Mediawiki software then does its worst!
- As far as I can recall there was no building on the South Beach to seaward of the lifeboat station, and Google Earth is not supplied iwth decent aerial photography there to be able to determine a thing
- One valid thing is to upload a scan of the original articles of association so others can judge what is there.
- Awesome to hear about the cat winning the Gull Island race! Mavericks need encouragement!
- Are you a current member? I must go back there one day. Fiddle Faddle 12:55, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
