Wikipedia:Ramsharan Darnal nominated for speedy deletion
[edit]I have nominated Wikipedia:Ramsharan Darnal for speedy deletion as non-controversial maintenance task as meeting the CSD G6 criteria because it appeared to have been created in error. You should not remove the deletion notice as you are the creator of the page but you can contest the speedy deletion by clicking the blue button on the deletion notice at the top of the page, though I don't see why you would. Please note that the page may be deleted at any time after nomination if it meets the criterion. Please also know that it is okay to make mistakes as a new editor; when you do, I recommend asking for assistance at the Teahouse. Regards! Usedtobecool ☎️ 20:55, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Arnav Darnal. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Ramsharan Darnal, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Usedtobecool ☎️ 20:56, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- User:Usedtobecool: I thank you for reaching out to me with your concern. However, the person in the article is simply a Nepalese musician of the Dalit community. I felt motivated to write on him because I read about him at school and was interested in his life. I'm quite sure that that's not a problem. If, in case, it is a problem, please feel free to write to me. In addition to the problems addressed, I created "Ramsharan darnal" by accident with the same content as "Ramsharan Darnal". So if there's any chance that I could redirect the former page to the latter, please help me do so.
- Arnav Darnal, please try and remember to sign your posts with four tildes (the tilde (~) is usually below the Esc key on the keyboard) which automatically converts to your username and the timestamp of your post. This edit and this one add up to a different story regarding your relationship with the subject. So, I must advise you again that you accept and disclose the conflict of interest. There is no downside to doing that. I have fixed the redirect Ramsharan darnal, but I am not sure that it's even necessary, as I think the browsers and search services are smart enough nowadays. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 02:37, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
