Users removing warnings from their talk pages
[edit]Hi, Arctino. I just declined an AIV report one of the bots made on you (don't hold it against them ; that's why we review them) since it's clear you haven't been vandalizing or editing disruptively.
However ... for future reference it's really not necessary in most circumstances to restore warnings to an editor's talk page, as they are assumed to have read and understood them if they do remove them. In fact informally we sort of discourage it as it can needlessly antagonize editors who may have already become problematic. And this will save you and the project effort you can put instead into improving and creating article content. Daniel Case (talk) 19:35, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: Hi, Daniel. Thank you for the message. Of course, I didn't want to vandalize. I use Twinkle to protect Wikipedia from trolls. I see what you mean. I'll keep an eye on it next time. --Arctino(talk) 19:53, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not sure Twinkle has been programmed to understand this. Another reason AI can be useful. Daniel Case (talk) 19:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: I also used that tool because the IP address was spamming the discussions of various users (e.g. @Miminity: and others). Arctino(talk) 20:04, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Understandable ... But their own userpage they get the same discretion over as all of us. Daniel Case (talk) 20:05, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: OK, I understand. Arctino(talk) 20:07, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
