User talk:Arc carleton
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Arc carleton, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Charles Chi, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Altered Walter (talk) 14:36, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Charles Chi, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Arc carleton", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Please consider changing your username to something that does not evoke an association to your employer. Also, please read through Help:Getting started if you are planning on contributing to Wikipedia so that it's clear how to create articles and properly source the information in them. Thank you! §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:13, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Changing your username
[edit]Hello, if you wish to change your username, please see WP:CHU. However, the amount of contributions you have at this point is low enough that the standard procedure is to simply abandon this account and create a new one, with a non-promotional name. If you have questions or concerns, please leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you for your understanding of our policies on usernames, and thank you again for your contributions! §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:54, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer instead to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you prefer to change your username rather than create a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 12:31, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
