Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Arc1234! Thank you for your contributions. I am Gobonobo and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{helpme}}
at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!
WikEd
[edit]You may want to consider using the full-featured in-browser editor WikEd. It sits below the default Wiki editor and adds many power features (but presents a pretty ugly tool pallet). It also styles the wiki syntax so that the syntax is a little easier to understand. It's easy to install, just go to your My Preferences, then click on the tab Gadgets. From there, select the checkbox for WikEd under the Editing section. Next time you open an edit page the new tool pallet will be displayed. In the same area you'll notice some citation tools that may be of use also. Quinn d (talk) 04:35, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Abortion Caravan
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Abortion Caravan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:17, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Removing Speedy at Abortion Caravan
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for taking the time to contribute.
I'm a bot designed by another Wikipedia editor, and I'm here to help you with our deletion process. I noticed that while working on an article recently, you removed a speedy deletion template that tagged it for deletion. Don't get discouraged! Deletion discussions happen on Wikipedia all the time.
If you don't want the article to get deleted, please click here.
The link will take you to the talk page, where you can explain why the article should be kept. If you have any questions about this or need help with editing, you can ask at the Help desk.
We really hope you'll stick around to help make Wikipedia better! Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 19:18, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Abortion Caravan. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 19:21, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:37, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

- I saw this article in the York Alumni newsletter and wanted to say that if you know of anyone looking to assign students Wikipedia-related assignments, that Wikipedia has a Canada Education Program that connects classes with Wikipedians who want to collaborate with universities. You might also be interested in WikiProject Feminism, which is an active project with a number of editors who are interested in feminism. Thanks for your work and welcome to the project!
