Haori in Bleach

[edit]

The Haori colours are such tiny details that we don't need to mention them. (Especially since they were probably only added in the anime, I don't remember them ever appearing in the manga at all.) Sorry about that, but Wikipedia tries to avoid including information that is completely trivial. --tjstrf talk 06:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for dropping me a note on why you were reversing my edits. I appreciate that.
In defense of adding the captains' haori colors:
First, the primary reason for adding the haori colors was to mention that Ichimaru's color matches with Aizen's, and Ukitake's with Kyoraku's; the respective characters' close relationships give it some validity, not to mention interest.
Second, the haori colors are fairly consistent within the anime, when they are visible. So, it makes sense to include other captains in addition to the four mentioned above.
Third, the fact that they are anime-only features should not disqualify them from being added to character outlines, since Bleach as a series includes both anime and manga.
However, If you are still conviced that such details are completely trivial, I suppose it cannot be helped. I only wanted to let you know of what I thought, in response to your comment. I apologise if I sound too aggressive in my arguments -- it was not my intention to appear so.
Thank you again, and have a nice day.

P.S. I am adding this to both mytalk pages, because I like to have things well-organized.

While it is slightly interesting and I'm sure intentional that Gin/Aizen and Koryaku/Ukitake have the same colours, it doesn't say anything about them that the text explaining their relationship as partners doesn't. And for everyone aside from those 4, the haori colour is about as meaningful as saying "he has red sandal straps". As I said a couple times in my edit summaries, it's true, but it's also a trivial detail. If you really think it's important, I'd suggest you make a topic on the Talk:Bleach (manga) or Talk:Characters in Bleach page to discuss it, but chances are the others will agree with me.
And no, you weren't being overly aggressive in your edits, or in your arguments. Wikipedia actually encourages WP:BOLDness in editing things that you think need improved. (Note: when someone says a word in the form WP:ALLCAPS, they are referring to a page in the "management" area of the site, whose pages all begin Wikipedia: and which contains things like the content and behavioural policies and general discussion pages.) Thank you for your contributions though. Have a nice day. --tjstrf talk 08:46, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
