There has been an ongoing feud between members of the Japanese and Korean communities over this article, please do not be put off by it. This matter has been extremely controversial since its inception. I and others have repeatedly tried to remove this section and move it to the Controversial foods article. the article has already been locked down because of this and I expect something to creep up again. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 03:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits on Korean cuisine
[edit]Hello!
You may not agree with what the article says regarding dog meat consumption but the information regarding this issue is properly sourced by several articles, including The Seoul Times. Wikipedia is based on the principle of verifiability, not truth. What that means is that it isn't enough to say I know this is right and I know this is wrong because everyone knows that and that's the truth, your addition or deletion of information must be accompanied by references to reliable sources that back up your claims. In the case of dog meat consumption, the sources are provided and they seem to be reliable. If you disagree with the article, find another third party reliable source (such as a reputable newspaper) that disputes the claims of dog meat consumption. It is considered unconstructive to just delete large portions of text simply because you disagree with it, especially when that text is properly sourced. The better thing to do would be to join the ongoing debate on the article's talk page and try to reach a consensus with the other editors. Otherwise, if you keep removing the text from the article, I can bet you money that someone else will reinsert it and that can lead to edit warring which is never constructive. Also, please make sure you don't breach the WP:3RR rule that prohibits you from making more than 3 reverts per day on a single article.
Feel free to ask me for help by leaving a message on my talk page if you have any questions.
