Welcome!

Hello, Appalachiangirl, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

That "four-tilde" signature is a good thing to use if you are involved in a complicated discussion (like on Talk:Melungeon, where I saw you), things get very confused if there aren't date/time tags on postings! - DavidWBrooks 01:41, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've done most of the work on the above article and can assure you that I have no connection with Caperton. In terms of deletion, she passes the criteria for biographical inclusion via her published academic works and the professor test. If you feel the article does not have a npov, feel free to improve upon it or tag the article as such. Cheers.

PS--I'll take it from you name you are a child of Appalachia. Good to have more people from our region on board. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 16:23, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "fawning" was done by an anon that kept resotring the language. I kind of gave up after a while. But yea, welcome back. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 16:30, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nope

[edit]

I archived my talk page...After a while, you will see that your talk page is getting too long. You can then archive it for the ease of other users. Since you have interest in Appalachia and are good at spotting npov language, can you take a look at Huntington, West Virginia's article sometime? youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 17:59, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I've been working on it off and on for a while. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 22:37, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
