Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Hi, this WikiPedia was created in 2011 , now we don't have access for it, to edit the content .The content am removing few things and adding new content. Nandalal acharya (talk) 06:13, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I am sorry. I was in a hurry, and noticing the removal of content, I speedily categorized it as that. I forgot to check that you added content. Apollogetticax|talk 06:15, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have a source link for my earlier edit, but I don't know how to reverse the reversion and add it. This is clearly an evolving story and I thought a timely update would be useful. Just the facts.

Well, you could see the diff between the versions, by pressing View History. Then you could restore that version. There is probably going to be a button that says Undo, or maybe Restore? If it's not there, then probably it's only for registered or autoconfirmed users. In that case I can revert to the original. Apollogetticax|talk 18:48, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, what? I just copyedited and cleaned it up, not added new material! Though yes, I'll try in the future to avoid this problem, even though I didn't do it. First of all: I didn't add or deal with images. Secondly: I didn't add anything new, so I didn't violate the fourth point. And I didn't provide quotations, and I didn't even open the website of the source. So either you are mistaking me for someone else or I violated the fifth rule.

You are correct, I placed the warning on the wrong user talk page. Sorry for the mistake. — Diannaa (talk) 00:14, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

July 2024

[edit]

Evading a block is always sockpuppetry, no matter how long you wait. We don't block accounts, we block individuals. You have to appeal your block before you can return to editing. On top of that, you were just blocked on your IP in June for block evasion, so you're evading a fresh block. Each time you have been blocked, you have made claims such as "finally unbanned" and such. So I want to make this clear: Until you successfully appeal your original checkuser block, you remain blocked. If you are caught by a checkuser socking again, your block will convert to an automatic community ban. This means instead of being able to appeal to an individual administrator, you will have to appeal to the entire community and be, essentially, voted on. You do not want that. -- ferret (talk) 16:02, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If HTML5, CSS3 is unbanned, I can use this again? Apollogetticax|talk 18:18, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Part of unblocking where sockpuppetry is involved is deciding which account you will use in the future. You need to read Standard Offer and the guide to appealing blocks. You have evaded blocks twice in the last month, so the expectation is for you to appeal in six months without any further evasion. -- ferret (talk) 18:20, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have used Standard Offer multiple times. Also what is the use of Standard offer? Apollogetticax|talk 18:35, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also I don't get what is the big fuss about my account being a sockpuppet (while it is) when I have never done any vandalism on it. Apollogetticax|talk 18:35, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is you've repeatedly made some disruptive edits. Those disruptive edits brought the eyes of administrators on you, who realized you were also sockpuppeting/evading. If your behaviors aren't improving, that's why the blocks are necessary. You have yet to appeal and prove you can adhere to our rules. -- ferret (talk) 19:36, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Disruptive edits? On this account? I don't think so. Apollogetticax|talk 21:29, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, I'll wait six months and then make an appeal. I thought Wikipedians had some shame! (I came to say thank you, and then you block me!) Apollogetticax|talk 21:32, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also I don't want to have to wait 6 months to help Wikipedia again. But I'm not complaining; this is the way it works. How about {{2nd chance}}? Apollogetticax|talk 18:39, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Standard Offer is the second chance. Your messages indicate you can't or won't abide by it. -- ferret (talk) 19:38, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? I will if I have to! Apollogetticax|talk 21:27, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Where have you appealed based on the Standard Offer? Please link to your past appeals if so, even if they were declined. The Standard Offer is not "wait six months, then sockpuppet again". It's wait six months without evasion, then appeal your block and explain why it's no longer necessary. Unless the appeal is accepted, you are still blocked and have not used Standard Offer. -- ferret (talk) 19:37, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question:

[edit]

Once the HTML5, CSS3 ban is lifted, can I also edit with this account, while stating that it is an alt account of it? Apollogetticax|talk 18:33, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You'd need a reason/approach that complies with WP:ALTACCOUNT. Sergecross73 msg me 15:33, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just as an aside, being a new account and applying for a lot of advanced permissions and rights you aren't entitled to yet is a sure fire way to get admins to scrutinize your account and look at your editing history, Apollogetticax. It's part of the potential approval process so that was very unwise on your part.
Also reiterating, if you get community blocked for an additional block evasion, it will be almost impossible for you to ever get unblocked because you have shown you can't abide by Wikipedia's guidelines. The community doesn't have infinite amount of patience so this is your last chance. Don't edit, logged out or with an account, for six months. Liz Read! Talk! 00:59, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, both Liz and ferret are giving you some very good advice. Please listen to them. Sergecross73 msg me 02:50, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
