Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! sats 10:04, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

State references library

[edit]
http://www.slwa.wa.gov.au/about_us/who_we_are/history - that is copied word for word into the article -even with a citation, sorry, it is considered WP:COPYVIO - it needs to be modified, otherwise wikipedia is seen as copying words directly from the slwa website. sats 10:09, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are to be encouraged

I would strongly recomend a look at http://trove.nla.gov.au/result?q=state+library+western+australia - when you look at trove it gives you ready made refs. One of the ways I could have modified your entry (if I had the time...) would have been to qaulify some of the assertions of the slwa website, reworded and added some of the newspaper refs for the different stages of the pre-1955 history of the institution...(trove newspaper refs infuriatingly cut out in the mid 50's - copyright issues) I have done it for a lot of wa stubs. The thing is that bots and keen checkers would see your word for word and the revert happens. All it takes is a few minutes to re-word, and to add some trove newspaper cites (readily created for wiki format) and youre there! cheers sats 09:13, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
