Sorry if edit summaries sound grumpy
[edit]Hi. I've made some copyedits to Nikolay Kamov, and on reading my edit summaries back, maybe I might sound a little intemperate. Please don't let my (perhaps a bit grumpy) edit summaries discourage you from making useful contributions, as you've been doing. -- Finlay McWalter··–·Talk 22:04, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Finlay McWalter No problem, thanks for your improvements. Frankly speaking I was trying only to resolve main article problems, like structure, lack of facts and even worse "Runglish" :), and did not pay proper attention to the current text style and grammar Apetrov09703 (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
Arseny Mironov and the GOCE
[edit]Hey there,
I've recently copy edited an article you created, Arseny Mironov. I'm a member of the Guild of Copy Editors, which is a WikiProject dedicated to improving the quality of writing in articles on the English Wikipedia. For any articles you feel require copy editing, you can add a copy edit template, and the GOCE will eventually copy edit it when it reaches the backlog. Other users outside of the GOCE who see the template may contribute as well. The backlog of the GOCE is currently around 5-6 months.
For any articles you want to be copy edited sooner (such as for Good Article or Featured Article nominations), you can submit them at our Requests page. Don't forget to read all instructions before submitting requests there. Thanks for your contributions, and have a nice day! —Bobbychan193 (talk) 19:40, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
Pronouns
[edit]Hi Apetrov09703, I noticed that in this edit: [1], you removed the pronoun "he" from the text in the "Biography" section. This creates sentence fragments. I do see this style of writing, similar to telegram style, sometimes in resumés or on LinkedIn etc., but I think it's not usually acceptable on Wikipedia, where normally full prose is used in articles. I looked for something in the Manual of Style that talks about it, but couldn't find anything. I was going to undo the changes, but I thought I'd ask you about it first. What do you think? --IamNotU (talk) 14:47, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- Please, go ahead. I'm just a newcomer in wiki and still in "learning mode" :) Apetrov09703 (talk) 19:25, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, I did a copy edit, and tried to keep as many of your changes as I could. Thanks... --IamNotU (talk) 20:41, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

Pavel Vlasov copy edit
[edit]Hi there
As you saw, I'm copy editing Pavel Vlasov. I can do the copy edit, but can you fact check as I go? Wouldn't want to make it less accurate :)
Thanks!

Duplicated links?
[edit]Hi! In regards to this edit, the practice of ENwiki is to have current and former URLs of external links there. The first EL was the current site in English, and the second the current site in Russian. The later two are previous URLs with historical information. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:15, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarification. However, under "duplication" I mean the existence of the current URL in the infobox. Is it reasonable to show it second time in the article? Apetrov09703 (talk) 17:09, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- I believe so. Showing it the second time in the external links section is something I've done on ENwiki the whole time I've been there. See Wikipedia:External_links#What_to_link and Wikipedia:External_links#Official_links WhisperToMe (talk) 22:33, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- OK, let it be :) Apetrov09703 (talk) 07:15, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Aleksey Krylov
[edit]I don't understand why you deleted the information that Victor Henri was the half-brother of Aleksey Krylov. Please could you explain. Do you doubt that it is true, or, if true, not significant? Henri was as distinguished in his field as the Lyapunov brothers were in theirs. Athel cb (talk) 20:08, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- This info is already exists in section "Family" below (duplicated and would be deleted in one or other place in the text) Apetrov09703 (talk) 20:14, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I missed that. Athel cb (talk) 05:49, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
