[edit]Hi Apanas13. I've made some pretty large changes to your draft and I wanted to explain why:
- Wikipedia is a general encyclopedia, which means while we should strive to cover everything, we should think about how to convey importance to a reader. In this case, we don't want to exhaustively cover individual incidents over dress codes. Instead what we want to do is think about finding some sources to offer more general information. I added a few sources to offer some more information to play with.
- When we write about culture wars, good resources are often long magazine articles, journal articles or books on the subject, because the people writing things like that can offer some more general info--how many schools have dress codes like these? When did they originate? Are schools adopting less gendered dress codes in response? Those are questions we can't answer right now, but a good secondary source could really help.
- Remember, the goal for wikipedia is concision. If you can convey the information in 200 great words or 500 ok words, pick 200 all the time. And most articles are small, so adding a section will often be in chunks of 200 words.
Let me know if you have any questions about the changes I made. I think with a little expanding on the broader response (not just schools) you can easily add this to the article and be happy with it. By the way, if some of the references were removed in this edit, you can always get them from the page history. Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:58, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
