Saint Etha Article
What is the problem? Why was my article deleted? I do not see how it violated anything. I am very irate about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saintetha (talk • contribs) 12:18, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:44, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Beer category decision
A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats. SilkTork *YES! 18:12, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:Beaver Technology Center.JPG
A tag has been placed on Image:Beaver Technology Center.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Beaver Technology Center.JPG|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Hello! Yes, the image is on Commons, but not on Wikipedia. Although Wikipedia can use this image, the information stored on Wikipedia don't have an image, so it's empty. If you wish to edit or request deletion of the image, you have to do it on Commons because there is where the image is stored. I hope I made clear this issue for you. You can look the log of the deletion of Image:Africa-jewish-population.jpg, for example. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 04:08, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I had read your hangon post on the image page before that page was deleted and thought I would expand on the above comment. Wikipedia is a bit strange how it handles commons images. When you click on a image link in en.Wikipedia that happens to be a commons image, it takes you to a non-existant image page within en.Wikipedia that displays the commons image. You can tell the page is blank due to the red links at the top of the page for image and discussion; as well as a link to create this page. In this case the page was not blank as it had some related comments to the image that was actually in commons and not in en.Wikipedia. That was the reason the page was being deleted. The request was to delete the en.Wikipedia page and had nothing to due with the image itself which is actually in commons but is being displayed as if it were in en.Wikipedia. I hope this help to better understand the sitation. Dbiel (Talk) 13:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I perfectly under stand how the Commons works, so I am awere of that, I thoght I uploaded here because since it got tagged here. I just don't understand why it was tagged in wikipedia, regards. Antonio Lopez (talk) 21:29, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Being unable to access the history file of deleted items I can not say how the page got created in en.Wikipedia. Looking at the Commons history file it would appear that you uploaded the image to commons. Somewhere along the line, someone created the page in en.Wikipedia which then resulted in the page being tagged for deletion. Dbiel (Talk) 23:20, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- yes, that was like the beginning of the year, I didn't remember, I just freaked out when the image was going to get deleted, until I noticed that I uploaded the the Image in the commons and forgot to remove the hangon tag and I ran out of time to fix it, I apologize for the trouble. Antonio Lopez (talk) 02:52, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. Wikipedia is confusing in the way it handles commons images. It is just too easy to create the page on en.Wikipedia when in most cases the edit should be made in Commons not in en.Wikipedia. Still unsure who actually created the page in Wikipedia. Had the user that added the deletion tag used a clearer edit summary such as: This page needs to be deleted as it does not contain the displayed image which is actually on Commons it would have helped. Dbiel (Talk) 07:48, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
