Your Sig!
Hey just letting you know that there seems to be a problem with your signature! look here for an example of the problem. I think that there is a check box that you need to uncheck in your preferences! Cheers! PhilB ~ T/C 12:46, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- No sorry I didn't manage to get round to removing your sig, I've been busy busy busy! XD PhilB ~ T/C 17:27, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually, what happened was that the page was reverted by User:JetLover, but reverted his/her own edit which I did not realize until today which probably explains why two people have been leaving messages about my signature. Antonio Lopez ( talk )
- Ah, kk no probs PhilB ~ T/C 18:12, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Userpage?
Would you like me to make you user page look a little bit better? PhilB ~ T/C 19:43, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- I probably shouldn't have but I had a go anyway because I was bored, have a look here to see the proposed userpage (don't worry if you don't like it, I haven't changed your user page and I can delete that one!) also if you wanted different colours, I could do that. Happy editing! PhilB ~ T/C 21:22, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Awesome, I think I wiil copy/move some parts from that user page to the main user page and fix the images. --Antonio Lopez ( talk ) 00:20, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Someone vandalized the North Garland page and I thought he/she was after me, because I was the last person who edited the page and I tried to revert the page, but cluebot beat me. Antonio Lopez ( talk ) 18:22, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

EGM
Thanks for taking care of that. I already dealt with this crap back in the spring and I really didn't want to again... check the euphonium page's history for like the beginning of April... this guy is bad news, he has a personal vendetta against me. Let's hope he gets bored and goes away. --NetherlandishYankee (talk) 04:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah... just so you know, EGM is Ben C. He used to go to school with me and basically finds his meaning in life by making other people miserable. Again, let's hope he stays away. --NetherlandishYankee (talk) 18:09, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

My Borked Userpage
Thanks for fixing it. Now I actually have to go to the MfD, and save the box so my page doesn't get broken again. It's all political! Haha. Laters, the_undertow talk 00:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Question
What is your interpretation of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools#School_songs.2C_school_hymns_and_fight_songs ?
Thanks! Joedaddy09 (talk) 23:24, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Are you talking about the copyright of the school songs, because I was going to check with a teacher if the school song for North Garland is copyrighted or if it's released to the public domain, but since we don't know, I believe we should not use it for now.--Antonio Lopez (talk) 01:05, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- I am not sure, but was just wondering since the alma mater and fight songs are considered the property of the school district (which is not the work of the US government) and the universities (which in NGHS case are Minnesota and Texas A&M). Similar to putting somebody's song lyrics on a website. But then I don't really know -_- Joedaddy09 (talk) 19:17, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- yeah, I'm not sure what to do either, but I did looked up Minnesota Rouser and it has the lyrics for some reason, but just like I mentioned before, I am going to ask someone about the current copyright of the GISD's school songs. --Antonio Lopez (talk) 19:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Repeated edits to horn-related articles
As you're aware, User 68.2.156.53 has been making a bunch of edits adding French in front of horn. I believe his/her changes to Horn section were made after your final warning. I'm going to go revert the change, but I'm not sure what to do after someone's had multiple warnings like this. What's the next step? WeisheitSuchen (talk) 03:02, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- DoneI reported him.--Antonio Lopez (talk) 03:08, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Do you want me to show you how to revert and warn vandalism easier.--Antonio Lopez (talk) 03:10, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, please! I figured out how to put templates on talk pages, but that's it. Most of the time I've only done first level warnings for users who aren't here more than a day, so I've never had to learn how to go any farther in the process. I'm sure there's information on the reporting process somewhere, so if you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! WeisheitSuchen (talk) 03:18, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

- You see the new tabs to the right of "watch" or "unwatch"? If you don't. You need to refresh to bypass cache. (Firefox: Control-Shift-R / Firefox Mac: Command-Shift-R / Explorer: Control-F5)--Antonio Lopez (talk) 03:57, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I see them. I had to change the skin I was using; I didn't have tabs for that skin. This is very slick; it will definitely make things easier for me. I'm reading through the documentation now; this will be very helpful. Thanks very much!
- On a completely unrelated note, in your heading at the top, you say "I will response on your talk page" instead of respond. WeisheitSuchen (talk) 04:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:DSC06185.JPG
A tag has been placed on Image:DSC06185.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:DSC06185.JPG|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome to WP:THOMAS
Greetings. It's a while since we have had anyone join the project. You are very welcome.
Can I ask what your particular interests are (regarding the Railway Series/TtTE&F)? For my part I am most interested in the books and their characters, but it is impossible to ignore the TV characters, so I keep a distant watch on what goes on. We have some more active members who keep an anti-vandalism eye on the various Thomas & Friends pages.
I had avoided adding 'ref-needed' tags to the character pages, mainly to avoid drawing attention to their lack of references! (Simply me being too busy elsewhere...) Do you have access to (any of) the three reference works: 'Island of Sodor...', 'Sodor:Reading between the lines', 'The Thomas the Tank Engine Man'? I have all three, although the last is on long-term loan. If you have access to them then you will be able to add references for much of the material. (Can't vouch for a lot of the TV series-related stuff, though!)
EdJogg (talk) 10:33, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- My interests on the project is to fix the references users leave and put them in footnote format, to maybe find more sources, and removing false information such as percy's number used to be 1346 seen here.
- I don't own any of those works, but I can try to find a few of the books in the near future.
- Oh and sorry about removing the comment on the Thomas article, I was just replacing the "br" tag.--Antonio Lopez (talk)18:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Any contributions will be more than welcome. I have all three books (as I mentioned), and only need to find the time to add the references... Other references beyond these would also be welcome (although I hadn't planned to look for them -- too much else to do!)
- Where we are really short is in references for the TV Series and characters. Sure we have the TV programmes themselves, but even these haven't been ref'd properly. Written refs would be much more helpful.
- EdJogg (talk) 23:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I will try my best to find references and try to get those books in the future, because those books are expensive and I don't have the money, though I wonder if they are available in the US. Oh, I just remembered that I own some old Britt videos of Thomas the Tank Engine, but I am not sure they can be used as source.--Antonio Lopez (talk)00:10, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- 'fraid the only answer is to wait on eBay (for example), as they've been out-of-print for years. But even then they're not cheap. I saw a copy of 'The Island of Sodor...' go for over £100!, and I have been waiting for a copy of 'The TtTE man' at under £20, without success. I was lucky with 'Reading between the Lines', as I found someone who had acquired a boxful and was selling them at the cover price! (Sorry for not converting the prices into dollars, they are rounded figures anyway.)
- EdJogg (talk) 00:38, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's all right I can convert it; It's about $39. Let's see if I can get lucky, but 'The TtTE man' is not being sold right know on eBay, wait I found one at amazon.com going for about £46 here.
- Also who is that lucky person who aquired a box full.--Antonio Lopez (talk) 01:39, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think you're in luck. There's a shop in Bournemouth selling a signed, limited edition hardback (n of 150) for just £199 :o) But they also have three copies of a signed first edition paperback at a much more reasonable price (here). It might be where I got my copy, as mine is signed too (as is my copy of 'Island of Sodor...'). -- EdJogg (talk) 09:46, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's about $25 with shipping included. Too bad I don't have a credit card, or I do know who has an eBay account who could get it for me, but then again I don't have the money... ...wait I know I have some in my room, but the question is where did I put it.--Antonio Lopez (talk) 13:14, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Baritone Horn.
I am sure that I am correct to say that the Baritone horn is conically-bored. every text on music i have read states this clearly. i will produce further refs within 48 hours.
regarding bore type, the difference between conicals and cylindricals seeems less clear-cut with brass, esp. low brass and french horn, than with woodwinds, because brass instuments gain notes by adding length of tube not shortening it and therefore the lower brass instruments esp. have far more tube overall. for example the french horn's flue is mostly of the same diameter but it is considered a conical instrument on account of the very long tapered leadpipe.
however trumpets and trombones are the only truly cyclindrical brass instruments, and even here the line is blurred by dual bored instruments.
