Hi Antion, Isee you have an adoption offer, this is a great help for you, I will also have a look at the article and offer a comment. It may be helpful to you to have a look at this Wikipedia:BLP#Dealing_with_articles_about_yourself and Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Help this and I will have a look when I get back later, firstly, welcome to the Wikipedia. Off2riorob (talk) 13:50, 16 February 2010 (UTC) Thanks you very much, Off2RioRob. The adopter who offered is apparently busy and hasn't got back to me, so that's why I went back to your welcome. You have the name of the article? I had checked those pages you indicated before but they don't apply much to my particular issues.I look forward to hearing from you when you get back.Antlion1932 (talk) 03:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am more thinking is the subject actually notable, perhaps a read of WP:BIO the strongest claim of notability is this detail, but there is a lot of fluff in the article which could use removing, no hurry no worry, it does read like a CV and we are not really here to report not notable things from a semi notable persons life, please take this in the way it is meant as helpful advice, regards. Gavan McDonell

[edit]

Thanks for the "heads up". It all sounds quite a bit harder than I feel it really needs to be!
"I think there's no chance of turning the old article into a decent encyclopaedia article" - I'm a bit confused about which version is the "old" article, and which is the "new" article. Could you provide me with a link to the "old"? I assume the current version of Gavan McDonell is the "new" article?
I regret that I feel I must say that I think the current version reads like a resume. Also, it makes incredibly boring reading! And it doesn't really tell you anything about him or his personality - just where he's been and what he's done. I'm not certain why, but I suspect it might be due to there being too much low-level detail, and no synthesis of this detail, nor higher-level analysis, nor summary.
The world won't end if nobody touches the article for a while. When you feel in the mood to do something, rattle my cage and we'll see if between the two of us we can sort something out. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:10, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fine by me. Will do-be awhile. Antlion1932 (talk) 00:30, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
