[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you recently removed content from Marc-André ter Stegen without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Updating football infoboxes
[edit]Hello. Looks like no-one's bothered to explain how to do it properly: sorry about that.
When you update the stats, you also need to update the |club-update=
parameter (it used to be called |pcupdate=
, and some pages still have that). It needs to be set to a date or timestamp at which the stats are correct. The easy way is, change whatever comes after |club-update=
to five tilde characters, so that the row reads
|club-update=~~~~~
and when you save the page, the system changes that into the date and time when the page was saved.
Some people prefer to use a date on its own: if you do that, please don't use the date of the match you're updating for, because the reader or another editor can't tell whether the stats include that day's match or not. So if you're updating for a match played on 6 October 2019, use |club-update=7 October 2019
.
The career stats table is different: you need to set the row above the table, that reads {{updated|.....}}
, to {{updated|match played 6 October 2019}}
.
If you don't change these dates to match the stats, you end up misleading the reader, which isn't a good idea. Thanks, Struway2 (talk) 08:27, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
- Please keep this in mind. --Jaellee (talk) 11:10, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Denisarona. I noticed that you recently removed content from Michel Macedo without adequately explaining why. Thanks. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Saidy Janko. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
Please don't forget to update the correct-as-of timestamp |club-update=
when you update stats. If you leave the infobox saying 12 appearances as of 22 September, as you did at Saidy Janko, when he didn't make his 12th appearances until 3 November, you're adding incorrect information to the article. Struway2 (talk) 17:06, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Björn Engels, you may be blocked from editing.
Seriously, please stop doing this. The |club-update=
is there to show the reader and other edtors when the stats are correct as of. Mr Engels didn't have 11 appearances for Aston Villa as of 28 September; he made his 11th appearance n 2 November. Struway2 (talk) 18:34, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Mady Camara.
Please stop removing explanatory notes from stats tables. Struway2 (talk) 12:16, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Career stats tables
[edit]When you update the career stats tables, you must, at the same time, update the row above the table, that says when the stats are correct as of. If you don't, you're introducing false information into the table.
Guilherme dos Santos Torres had not played 11 Superleague matches as of match played 26 November: he played his 11th Superleague match on 1 December. The same as the other Olympiacos players that you updated.
I have fixed the dates, but will not do so again. If you update these tables in the future, please do it properly. Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 11:05, 3 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Jayron32 12:46, 17 January 2020 (UTC)- This block is to get your attention. Dozens of editors for several months have been trying to communicate with you on this user page. You have not yet acknowledged them nor responded to their valid concerns over mistakes you are making with your editing. If you wish to be unblocked, please acknowledge that you have read this message, and ALSO acknowledge and respond to the concerns above in the section titled "Career Stats Table", as that seems to be the crux of the problem. Thank you. --Jayron32 12:46, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
