[edit]Hello, AnnePennyGeorge. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 15:18, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I am one of three children updating my father's bio, but EVERYU SINGLE sentence is given citations from the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Baltimore Sun and Legal publications. WHY WAS MY LAST EDIT REMOVED? I had just written about a significant Supreme Court case he argued with a citation from https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/383/169
- And everything was deleted! saying someone else had interfered with the page.
- I also want to REMOVE the reference to one of my 15 books which is entirely inappropriate. Please let me finish.
- Thank you. AnnePennyGeorge (talk) 15:45, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
To whom it may concern
[edit]This is to certify that User:AnnePennyGeorge is indeed family with George Cochran Doub (and, as it happens, with myself). Editing that page has been made under my supervision and guidance; and through several mail exchanges AnnePennyGeorge has been fully briefed on the necessity of being neutral, of mentioning one's source, and especially not to rely on personal memories.
I am a contributor on fr:Wikipedia and fr:Wictionnary since 2006, and admin on Commons since 2006 - So I know the rules, though not specifically the ones on en:Wikipedia. If there is any problem with AnnePennyGeorge's contributions, please let me know, and we'll try to fix it.
