Why has a web page on Geoffrey James, author, been removed? IMHO, that decision is censorship of the worst kind. Ankerstein (talk) 19:12, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Adding references

[edit]

You may find the article Help:Referencing for beginners useful in learning how to build complete and well-formatted references in Wikipedia. The methods shown in Using refToolbar are particularly handy for enabling efficient cut-and-paste construction of a proper Wikipedia reference. The refToolbar method is very useful, because it uses a simple form to cue an editor to include the most important parameters (for example, author, date, publisher), while it takes care of the formatting details automatically. You can skip the later section in the tutorial, on manually building references, until/unless you need to "look under the covers" to make custom modifications.

I see that you have been around a while, editing from time to time. I hope you can add further constructive edits as your time, interests, and knowledge permit. If you have any comments or questions for me, add them here; I will watch this talk page for at least a month. Cheers! Reify-tech (talk) 15:20, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do have questions about how to add a reference. 1) If a claim is made (Einstein played with Anker [Anchor] stone blocks) and I doubt that claim, how do I insert a "citation needed"? 2) If I add a reference book to the bibliography, do I have to manually repeat the action on other appropriate pages? 3) Note that virtually everyone uses the German word "Anker" for the Richter/Anker trademark. Is this important to note in the article on Anchor Stone Building Sets? 4) Many references are in print, but not on-line. Is this important? 5) How does one provide a reference to this "citation needed"? The stones come in three colors in imitation of the red brick, tan limestone, and blue slate of European buildings.[citation needed] What is the question? Three colors? That the red is "brick red"? That bricks, limestone, and slate are typical of German buildings built during the late 19th C.?

I will check the Help:Referencing for beginners link.

I want to change the title of "Richter (toy company)" to "F. Ad. Richter & Cie." How is that done? Can someone do it for me if I do not have authorization to make that change?
