Speedy deletion nomination of Angela J Elliott
[edit]A tag has been placed on Angela J Elliott requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 14:29, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Hello, Anjgi, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.
The page you created about yourself has been or will shortly be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, but if you want to use the content from it, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Your request for help
[edit]I have seen your message at Talk:Angela J Elliott. I am very sorry to read that your earlier contribution was deleted without explanation. This should not be: anyone proposing deletion of an article should give a reason to the creator of that article. You may well find some of the above links helpful. One thing that it is very important to realise is that Wikipedia's policy is to accept only articles on subjects which satisfy its notability criteria. It is a common mistake for newcomers to Wikipedia to ask "how can I make this article suitable to be kept?" without first asking "is the subject of the article notable?" If the answer to the second question is "no" then there will be no answer to the first one. Please understand that I am not saying that this is so in your case, as I do not know how much notability there is, but I am warning you that this is often so, and if it is then any time spent on the article is likely to be wasted. If you have not yet done so have a look at the general notability guideline and the notability guideline for creative professionals. Both of these are just single sections of pages: some other material on those pages is relevant too, but those sections are the most important in your case. Also worth at least a quick look is the guideline on reliable sources. All the guidelines and policies can seem very off putting to a newcomer to Wikipedia (I remember they were to me when I started), but the basic ideas are simple enough. If, having read those guidelines, you really think you satisfy Wikipedia's criteria and can provide useful references then it should be possible to put together an article which will resist deletion. I see that TFOWR has declined the speedy deletion proposal, so that should give you time to work on it. There will still be the conflict of interest guideline, which discourages you from writing an article about yourself, and it is also possible for another editor to propose deletion. In fact it almost certainly will be proposed for deletion if sources are not provided. However, it is possible for you to work in a temporary page and then have it released as an article. If you like we can move the article to such a temporary page, at User:Anjgi/Angela J Elliott. There it should be pretty save from deletion while you work on it, and if and when it is suitable as an article it can be moved back.
Please contact me on my talk page if you wish to ask for any other help or advice. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:51, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like the original creator of the article was Angelastarhealer, and the notification of the proposal for deletion was put on the user's talk page. User_talk:Angelstarhealer --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 16:45, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- That certainly explains the supposed lack of notification. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The article Angela J Elliott has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. GregJackP (talk) 16:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
