Welcome to the League of Copyeditors

[edit]

I'm very sorry I haven't had a chance to welcome you earlier, I have been incredibly busy lately. We are glad to have your help. Currently, we have really cut down the backlog of articles in need of copyedit. Therefore, a major goal at this moment is to identify new articles that are in need of work. When you run across them, be sure to tag them for copyediting.

If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to drop me a line. Trusilver 06:22, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Blue Submarine No. 6 has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://ticktank.wordpress.com/ (matching the regex rule \bwordpress\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Hi. I appreciate your personal testing reflected below:

Fraud Testing

A better description of the home refrigeration test is needed along with temperatures at which various oils and olive oil solidifies. That way, armed with a thermometer, various brands of oils can be tested by consumers and opinions expressed on consumer forums. Without temperatures, one can only observe as the oil is cooled various percentages that solidify out of solution. I had a 3 liter bottle of "Members Mark" olive oil from Sam's Club (a USA warehouse shopping club); Members Mark is the store brand oil from Sam's Club (Wal-Mart). It took about 2 weeks to test the oil. I then moved it to a standalone small spare refrigerator in the garage. More or less, about every half day, I would adjust turn the temperature down a small amount as well as look at the clear plastic bottle. About ten percent of the oil solidified out of solution and as the temperature continued to go down and this was stable as the temperature declined. About 40% solified out of solution at another point. By this time, it was pretty hard to visually estimate the percentage so I stopped the testing. So, Sam's Club sells "olive oil" that is apparently a blend of oils of significantly differing solidification temperatures. My opinion then is that the house branded Sam's Club olive oil is an oil blend of olive oil and something else. It has a nice green color, but I am unable to test for colourants.AnimeJanai (talk) 01:27, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

.... but you must realize this is Original Research, which has no place in Wikipedia, even on the Talk Pages, but you've also accused Sam's Club of something they may not be doing, or incorrect labeling, and technically they could make a legal complaint to Wikipedia management. This is more suited to a Forum someplace, if that forum's rules allow it. I've deleted it and moved it to your user page. Again, personally, I find it interesting. But I'm afraid the project might get whacked by some lawyer if we left it there.  :-) HammerFilmFan (talk) 18:50, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
