Finngall, I need to talk to you about the deletion of the Marc Abraham biography that I posted earlier. It was deleted because it was found on the web site www.hollywoodjesus.com which mentions one of his movies, "Tuck Everlasting" and has Marc's bio as information on the producer. That bio was obtained from Marc Abraham's office and written by me, it isn't a problem that they have used it but it is hindering my ability to post an updated version of his bio on Wikipedia. What do you suggest I do?

First of all, we tend to discourage contributions where the editor is connected with the subject for conflict of interest reasons. Mr. Abraham looks notable enough to merit an article here. But remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, which means that the material herein needs to be written from a neutral point of view, and it needs to be verifiable from reliable sources that are independent of the subject. That means that Mr. Abraham's promo material should not be used as a source for the article, copyright violation or not, and that the article shouldn't read like a press release, which your article did.
Please note that the fact that the article was speedily deleted does not preclude its recreation, but if the content is not substantially different, it's liable to get deleted all over again. If you wish to continue to work on the article, I recommend creating a subpage of your userpage to use as a private workspace. You can then move or copy the finished product to the main article space.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. --Finngall talk 23:07, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
