A tag has been placed on SugarDVD, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 18:07, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to SugarDVD, you will be blocked from editing. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 20:47, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- First of all, if you have any connection with the company, you have automaticaly violated conflict of interest policies. The primary issue is that, despite your toning down of the text, the aricle still existed primarily to promote a company which does not otherwise meet Wikipedia standards for notability, and therefore is not deserving of an article. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 00:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll take your word that you are not associated with the company, though we've had instances where someone claims they are not and it turns out they are. You wouldn't believe the lengths to which some people go to get their business, their organization of themselves into a Wikipedia article.
- You must realize that what your class and your professor consider to be notable and what Wikipedia administrators and editors consider to be notable may be two entirely different things. Additionally, the existence of articles about similar firms does not confer notability to this one. Each subject stands or falls on its own. Most importantly, statements in an article need to be verifiable by independent, reliable sources, much like a reasearch paper or academic journal article. If you are going to state that SugarDVD has a certain market-share ranking, you need to back that up with a citation from an independent source — the company's website or sales material doesn't count. A Google search is always a good start for sources, but Google News is even better, because websites of newspapers, broadcast statiuons, magazines and such are normally pretty reliable. (Full disclosure: I work for a newspaper.) I did a quick search and found this link in Google News: [1].
- Being involved in porn doesn't automatically disqualify a subject from Wikipedia — far from it. There are even specific policies in place about what constitutes notability for porn movie stars. But you still must prove that SugarDVD meets Wikipedia standards for notability.
- Feel free to ask any questions you may have. When you do, remember to "sign" your message by typing four tilde characters at the end, like this: ~~~~ and Wikipedia will insert your user name and a link back to this page. I did it here, and this is what shows up: - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 23:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, when you put a colon at the beginning of a line or paragraph, it indents that paragraph. Open this page up by clickng on "Edit this page" up at the top, then scroll down to see the box where you do the editing. You'll see how I put colons in front of paragraphs, and that it indents one level for each. (This paragraph is indented three levels.) That's how we keep track of a flow of messages about a topic on talk pages. I mention this because I noticed you tried to put a smiley face in your last message to me, and it showed up as an indented parenthesis. :-) - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 01:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on SugarDVD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Much better!
[edit]Your second effort is greatly improved. I noticed someone marked it for speedy deletion again, but another editor removed the message, and rightly so. I added a "References" section and a {{reflist}} template; these are required so that all those refernces you put in actually appear at the proper place in the article. I had to remove one link from postchronicle.com (I think it was your first link), becase Wikipedia has blacklisted links to that site for some reason, probably spamming. You'll need to find a suitable replacement. Don't worry — that sort of thing happens to everyone from time to time.
Let me know if you need any help — but again, realize that I'm no expert on porn. And if I were, I doubt I would admit it. :-) - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
