More information needed about File:UltimateX-Men01 001a.jpg
[edit]Hello, AngelCyke!
It was really helpful of you to upload File:UltimateX-Men01 001a.jpg, but in order to keep new images, we need to know their exact source and copyright status.
If you can edit the description page and add that information, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.
Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:07, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
List of highest grossing films
[edit]Will you please stop extending the list. This has been discussed on the talk page at Talk:List_of_highest-grossing_films#franchise, and the consensus is to keep it at 20 for the time being. If you extend the list I again I will report you for edit-warring and ignoring the consensus. DISCUSS it at the article first. Betty Logan (talk) 14:35, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- If you head over to the discussion, your chart extension proposal is under consideration. I am supporting the extension of the chart to a top 25, so if you have anything to say or want to vote in favor of it then please join the discussion. I am sorry if I came across as harsh, but you can't just extend charts on a whim. A few details needed to be sorted out to make sure it wasn't incorrect, such as where the Rocky and Star Trek series rank. Betty Logan (talk) 15:19, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Please stop removing the highlighting from The Amazing Spider-Man entry as in this edit. Box Office Mojo are still tracking the film, and just because it has closed in one country does not mean it has finished playing in another. If you wish to discuss this further then join the discussion at Talk:List_of_highest-grossing_films#Removal of the 'in release' highlighting from The Amazing Spider-Man rather persistently reverting. Main Page appearance
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of highest-grossing films know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on February 25, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/February 25, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 04:51, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Traditionally, the highest-grossing films have been war films, musicals and historical dramas, but franchise films have been the best performers in the 21st century, especially the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean series. The only films in the top ten that do not form a franchise are the top two, Avatar and Titanic, both directed by James Cameron. Disney has enjoyed success with its Pixar brand, of which the Toy Story films have been the best performers. James Bond, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones are still among the highest-grossing franchises, despite starting over thirty years ago. Gone with the Wind (poster pictured) was the highest-grossing film for 25 years and, adjusting for inflation, would remain so.
