Review for "World Wetlands Day" page additions

[edit]

Hi Andres Antonini - good job editing the Wikipedia page on World Wetlands Day! You've made some great improvements to this page. What follows is a review by an external reviewer who based their comments on the version of your page that's available at this link.

I have separated my review into the sections as seen on the Wikipedia page.

World Wetlands Day:
[edit]
  • To give some context on why WWD was created, I would suggest mentioning the Ramsar Convention in the first couple lines(https://www.ramsar.org/activity/world-wetlands-day). It would also be beneficial to define what a wetland is.
  • “This day serves to recognize the influence and positive production that Wetlands have had on nature and in terms brings communities together for the benefit of Mother Nature.” Since you talk about Mother Nature at the end, taking out the word ‘nature’ before that would complete this sentence.
  • In the second paragraph, it says that World Wetlands Day was not celebrated until 1997 but there is no reference. If you add a reference at the end of that sentence then that paragraph would be great! I have provided some links you could use:
  1. https://www.environment.gov.au/water/wetlands/world-wetlands-day
  2. https://www.worldwetlandsday.org/documents/10184/273021/WWD18_Guide_Engl.pdf/e81ab981-a8b9-48b7-9e35-316de596c70c
  • In the last paragraph of this section, I think it was great that you added why wetlands are in trouble. Adding some more information on why wetlands are beneficial would really tie this section together.
Partnership

  • You have made this section so much better than it originally was! Great job!
Conclusion
[edit]
  • Overall, I think you did an amazing job on updating the existing Wikipedia page. I hope my comments will be helpful to you!
