Biden's health
I don't trust corporate-owned mainstream news media. Anyways, hope yas come to a consensus at Biden's page, concerning the health bit. My guess? it'll likely not be added. GoodDay (talk) 01:55, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Referring to templates
Just FYI, you don't need to do weird stuff like {`{od}`}
to refer to templates. Try {{tlx|od}}
, which displays as: {{od}}

Fox News
Hi,
Wrt an edit conflict at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard&action=submit
Apparently, I did not understand the purpose of the thread. I still don't.
Here is your immediately earlier comment and my reply, which was caught in an edit conflict when the thread was closed:
- I agree that the Fox News desk handled the polling/election and the Arizona call well. My current failed fact checks of note are listed here. There are other, older examples about climate science and stuff that have been discussed before. Andrevan@ 22:26, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I understand the question to be if Fox is reliable now, not in the past. Some observers see a recent change. The NYT is of many. YoPienso (talk) 22:50, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Note: I didn't really understand your comment or how it related to the discussion. YoPienso (talk) 22:50, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Yopienso The thread was created because there were several RFCs that were closed for not having a neutral enough statement. The goal was to discuss the format and process, not the issue itself. Sorry for any confusion. Andrevan@ 22:52, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
"Male (gender)" listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect Male (gender) and has thus listed it for discussion. This discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 July 29#Male (gender) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. — Tazuco ✉️ 05:21, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
Hope you're OK
Hey. I know from my own recently launched contentious RfC that this can get frustrating, especially when curveballs and spanners get thrown into the mix. Feel free to ping me here, or my talk page, or by email if there's anything you think I can help with. Sideswipe9th (talk) 03:12, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Sideswipe9th I appreciate that and your collaboration. Andrevan@ 03:14, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

ITN recognition for Ayman al-Zawahiri
On 2 August 2022, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Ayman al-Zawahiri, which you updated and cleaned up for use on MainPage. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 12:22, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

I'll leave that choice to you. You've been on my talk page, so you've presumably seen that looking for free images is one of the ways I contribute. --GRuban (talk) 18:09, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- It's a great find for sure. I love the way you kept his cards in the shot. I was just saying to someone that the Dewey Decimal system and card catalogs are underrated. Name another database system that still pretty much works, relatively unmodified since the 1870s. I'll wait! Also, this kind of reminds me of another article of mine that could use some love one of these days, the venerable Rolodex. Andrevan@ 18:14, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

question
Hi, you made [1] edit. Did I do something wrong in creation the RFC such that the Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Politics, government, and law was not created? Or was this because I forgot to add pol to the rfc creation tool? Thanks! Jtbobwaysf (talk) 23:41, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Jtbobwaysf probably just forgot to add it to that category. No big deal. Andre🚐 23:42, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- Exactly, thank you. Indeed this is certainly a politics related article, quite a stupid oversight on my part :-) Thanks! Jtbobwaysf (talk) 07:22, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

I found the cause of the weird subst. I had accidentally not selected the last few characters in copying from Word into Twinkle, and two of the last omitted characters were right brackets. I've known for 57 years that mismatched brackets cause trouble. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:39, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Troll behind an IP
Someone behind the IP address 107.115.41.59 made a cruel remark on the IP address I'm using (I'm unable to create an account right now), calling me a pedophilia and telling me to jump off a cliff because I apparently made some edit. Can you please block the address in case they use it to attack more IPs in a possible cyberbullying campaign? 2001:8003:AD13:F800:A0B5:BAA3:6CF7:52BF (talk) 08:12, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin anymore so I cannot block it. Try WP:AIV Andre🚐 14:16, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- It's fine. But if the IP does attack another person, can you please let an active mod know? 2001:8003:AD13:F800:A0B5:BAA3:6CF7:52BF (talk) 04:10, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Stop claiming contentious edits as copyedits
I'm not sure what you think a copyedit is, but it's not massively adding and removing content. I would highly advise you not to claim you are copyediting in these circumstances; at best, it looks misleading and at worst it could make people think you are trying to actively hide contentious edits. Toa Nidhiki05 03:48, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- You've just mass reverted valid and referenced edits which I wrote, "ce and npov and add references," you have an NPOV problem where you want to describe in wikivoice that the Democratic Party has moved left despite many sources that interpret it differently. It's an NPOV issue on multiple articles Andre🚐 03:52, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
August 2022
Your recent editing history at Democratic Party (United States) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Toa Nidhiki05 17:59, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Please do not assume ownership of articles. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. I prefer not to template the regulars, but since you're templating me, here's one for you. It takes at least 2 to edit war. Andre🚐 18:12, 22 August 2022 (UTC) [2]

Archive bot, is the way to go
Howdy. Recommend an archive bot, for your talkpage. That way, editors won't get notified, when you archive posts. GoodDay (talk) 23:33, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- @GoodDay, thanks, yeah, that's fair, I've been doing it this way so long that I forgot people get pinged for all those notifications nowadays. There was never a compelling reason to have the bot do it, but I guess that's a good one. Is there a preferred best archive bot as of 2022? Andre🚐 23:36, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- Use the bot I've got. I can't remember who installed it for me, but I'm guessing an administrator might know how. GoodDay (talk) 23:40, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- Eh, yeah whenever I go down the path of how to set it up or how to convert my old archives to the format, or configure it, I just kind of give up. But I'll try to do it before the next time I archive the talk page. Andre🚐 23:41, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
