You have a conflict of interest
[edit]The request to edit National Educational Technology Standards by NETS conflicts with the interests of Wikipedia.
Hello, Andramere. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article National Educational Technology Standards, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 22:15, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
How to request an edit to the article
[edit]As you have a conflict of interest, I undid your edits to National Educational Technology Standards please use the wp:Edit requests system for asking for changes to that article. This is Wikimedia foundation's website, not ISTE's. So, ISTE may request changes to the article but they should not directly change the article. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 22:30, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, I've read a bit more background on the situation. If you would rather I, as an editor with no COI, performed the merge, I am very open to that. Thanks! Happy Squirrel (talk) 00:12, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Happy Squirrel (talk). It won't work well to just add the new info to the National Educational Technology Standards page because that is no longer the name of the standards. The page does need to be moved to a new page with the new name. However, I was under the impression that I can't make that move myself. It would be great if you could perform that merge and let me know. Thank you! Andramere (talk) 22:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC) Andramere (talk) 22:35, 12 April 2016 (UTC)andramere
