Request
[edit]Request you to revert back the Great power article that existed before the personal change by UKPhoenix79 to the version that existed with Hobiehunter. I would like you to warn UKPhoenix79 from removing things in the article with credible links and pushing his own version without any discussion or agreement. Thank you.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 05:27, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
No. You are not supposed to endorse personal opinion of persons. Check the history. It was agreed by many members and the previous version was the standard, which was changed in a single edit by a person and put his personal opinion without considering reaching any consensus. I don't think such a change is allowed in Wikipedia. I will be making to the previous version of the article. Let there be consensus for any change and then a change. But personal opinion will not be allowed.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 02:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Check the history of the article. You will come to know. The current version (the blocked one) is done without reaching a consensus by a single person. It's his personal version. Revert it back to the original version. Then let the discussion to continue. Where is India. You can see that India was removed in a single move.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 02:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Request you to change the article to previous version by UKPhoenix79. Some unknown user 24.205.234.250 has changed it resulting in the removal of India from the emerging power list. Request you to bring the article to the last level by UKPhoenix79. Also request user 24.205.234.250 be banned for vandalism.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 05:15, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm supportive of further measures against User:24.205.234.250. Was blocked yesterday for 24h, used proxy instead of stopping. Have taken this to admin incidents and 3RR noticeboard (there are two entries on latter). I believe though that it was User:UKPhoenix79 who changes India per this diff. Don't forget to provide one or more diffs in the future when you want to make a request or discuss something. Species8473 (talk) 08:21, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
The Hindu
[edit]The issue regarding The Hindu was about the adherence to basic tenets of Wikipedia as it is visible in start Para itself that, Substantiation was not given to the entries made , besides raising trivial objections to thwart well prrof backed alternative views . *Sighs* Even more help
[edit]Now I'm dealing with this user: 217.21.112.15. They seem to keep changing sports articles to suit their opinion, and are emphasising the facts related to cricket, to make them stand out. Such include changing the pages of Cricket and Football in England. When I warned them, I get called a dumb illiterate Here. I may have replied a little harshly, but I take back the comment I made on said user's talk page (Here). Is there any way of making this user see reason without it resorting in an attack? --Maurice45 (talk) 18:23, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Semi-protection
[edit]Hello!
Please let me know if you'd rather not deal with this and if you think I should go through the prescribed channels but I wanted to see if you wouldn't mind semi-protecting Petar Brzica article the way you semi-protected Srbosjek (knife). The two articles are on related subjects and the issues that were alleviated by semi-protection on Srbosjek are the same issued by the same IP editors that are currently being experienced on Petar Brzica.
Thanks for your time either way and do let me know if you'd prefer I take this elsewhere.

J. A. Comment sock
[edit]It seems you're around (at least as of a few minutes ago). I've been told that this user is a sock of banned J.A. Comment (et al.). from a review of their mutual contribs, this seems likely, but since you were at least partially involved, is there something else i should know? The user who reported him to me seems to be on a mission, and I want to make sure I'm not stepping into something I don't fully understand. If I don't hear from you in a bit, I'm confident enough that I'm going to block, but I'd love some reassurance. --barneca (talk) 23:39, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Meanwhile, I'm reviewing the block of User talk:J. A. Comment. Checkuser confirmed the lack of a link between J. A. Comment and Velebit, and so I'm left wondering what J. A. Comment has actually done wrong. From everything I can see, J. A. Comment is merely trying to support text in an article with sources. Nothing seems particularly POV about it, since it is mainly sourcing of already-existing text. The other editor seems to be upset and constantly insisting that all sources be online, but this is not a Wikipedia requirement. Can you explain things better? Velebit doesn't even seem to have been interested in this one article J. A. Comment is involved in... and, J. A. Comment doesn't seem to have been that familiar with Wikipedia right off the bat, although this was apparently a contributing factor. (He requested unprotection from you on his 10th edit, but it was weeks after he showed up.) Mangojuicetalk 16:08, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, AndonicO. The sentence "despite taking advantage of the PS3's improved hardware, the ported version was regarded as inferior to the Xbox one" is incorrect. The PS3 version was regarded by several reviewers as inferior on technical achievement, i.e. it failed to exploit the hardware as much as the Xbox version did (besides introducing new software bugs). These reviewers are also split on the final quality (overall) of the PS3 port compared to the Xbox. Could you reword the final statement? Thank you. Jappalang (talk) 01:26, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Welcome
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, article logistics, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a style guide that covers article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention.
- The project has a stress hotline available for your use.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Wandalstouring (talk) 11:47, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

page protection on Coptic flag
[edit]Hi AndonicO -
I'm contacting you since you are the protecting admin on the Coptic flag page. I've been doing some research on long-term page protection policy (in general, not about that page in particular) and noticed that page has been fully protected since June 1.
It looks like there's been almost no discussion there since then, and also that the edit-warring was mainly IPs, so I wonder if maybe the protection is no longer needed and you might like to unprotect it, or perhaps change it to semi-protected.
I am not familiar with what led up to the protection. If you'd rather keep it protected that's fine with me. I don't edit that page, so this is not a personal request, just something that came up related to the research I've been doing.
Thanks and have a good day... --Jack-A-Roe (talk) 03:33, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:49, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi AndonicO,
I am asking for a big favours of yours. I nominated the article Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Austria) for featured list, but there were too many small grammar problems, so we decided to withdraw it, and do a peer review first. The list is complete and very well sourced. It also followed all he suggestions given in Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Belgium) (recently promoted to featured list), so in general is in a very good shape. Only the description fields for the coins are in a need of a good copy/edit. Can you please help us to get this list promoted?
Many thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 06:27, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Credible author
[edit]Hello. A credible authors' reference is being "overrided" by edit-warring. I recently tried to add to the telescope article but this editor seems to think that his opinion overrides a VERY credible author in Mr. Richard Powers. I've been blocked before for edit-warring recently, so I don't want this to be another incident on my record.
Anyway, the other editor seemed to have asked his friend-type editors to form a consensus, so I will do the same. The Islamic connection here is, Al-Haytham. He is FUNDAMENTAL to the telescope and the FATHER of optics. By definition, the summary can include him since the radio and electro-magnetic telescopes are derogatory to the average person looking at the article; I wanted to add it to the history section since it looked cleaner.
