Orphaned non-free image (Image:FremantleScreenshot.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FremantleScreenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:38, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello: Something went wrong with the set up for the AfD on this article. I tried to fix it, but its a mess. You may need to work on it, or just try again. Gaff ταλκ 00:39, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, looks like its been fixed. Gaff ταλκ 00:40, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, some editor keeps on re-adding that "monkey steals the peaches" section. They have added a link to a website that makes fun of it, but it's hardly a reliable source. You will see what I mean if you click the link on the page. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 17:51, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It can get frustrating when you're not sure where to report something - I still spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure this kind of stuff out. Worse, it's an issue that's often made worse by the seemingly infinite number of places to report problems on Wikipedia. In a case like this, if a post on the article talk page doesn't quickly get the response you'd like, I suggested posting to the Miscellany section of the Village pump. While it may not always be the best place for a given question, it's a good bet you'll get an answer (or at least a suggestion for a better place to post). -- MarcoTolo 01:07, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disclaimers

[edit]

Hi there. If you search WP, you will find lots of disclaimers. I have a link to the legal disclaimer on my talk page. Bearian 02:52, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw your comment on the IP talk page for Hans Rosenthal who edits here as "ROHA" under a constantly-changing IP address (so he's unfortunately not likely to see it). Thank you for speaking up about his blatantly anti-Semitic comment directed at me - I am appalled that no one else said a word, and it has been hanging there for a month. I just saw the comment today, and am trying to get some assistance with this. Nice to meet you - Cape Cod is an interest of mine as my family has spent time there for years. Tvoz |talk 00:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is Hans Rosenthal, a jew, speaking. Do you have any problem to contact me directly? This will help you to do so: Hans Rosenthal (ROHA) (hans.rosenthal AT t-online.de -- replace AT by @ ) (27112007) PS If you NOW have any problems to contact me directly, well, then it's your problem. PPS: This is also meant for you talk, the one who takes himself as very important... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.148.104.191 (talk) 05:16, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I just saw your entry on AN/I - I was going to post something there myself, so I very much appreciate your taking the initiative to do so. I've posted a reply as well. Tvoz |talk 07:18, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that the article was improved greatly from the last 4 or 5 versions created by the same editor. Great job on those improvements

As far as the best way to avoid this situation of deletion and salting, is probably to just improve the article in order that asserts the notability with as much as possible good sources (and also that he is notable). Even if it is legitimate, it must meet various guidelines anyways. Quite often, if it is salvageable and legimate, improvements are made during deletion nominations by editors to save it. Looking at this article, looks to be notable. JForget 00:14, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you did the right thing by reverting it. However, it would be useful to get a wider community response to this by posting in a more noticeable area, like the admin's noticeboard. Angela. 10:05, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IceDream.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:IceDream.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:48, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

I have no idea what the status of the legal issue is - so I'll leave it to you or others - I was dealing with removal of text not the implied issues - SatuSuro 22:19, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edelsten

[edit]

Are you doubting the notability of Edelsten? He's quite well known in Australia particular in the 1980s. Less so now. Michellecrisp (talk) 11:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clean-up on DH - looks better now. SmithBlue (talk) 13:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Salah Edin

[edit]

I agree with you about the notability issue. Now, with the links to Fitna, etc., the article on Salah Edin seems to show the subject's notability. Plus, many thanks for fixing the name of the article! That "Salad" thing was annoying me. Anyway, the article looks good now, so I removed my "notability" and "cleanup" tags. Fitna

[edit]

No i just cut out the quote from the WP that i had placed on the talk page(in responce to your fair use question), i did not cut out the other persons comments. Feel free to edit/revert as you see fit, i just thought you were right after reading your comment. I don't anon edit (unless by accident). (Hypnosadist) 13:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
