Reliable sources, and self-published sources

Hi, Ana, (O texto em português segue esta mensagem.)

I recently reverted this good faith edit of yours at Subcutaneous tissue of penis. Your edit was an improvement, and you did a good job of finding an equivalent article on the web, for another one from University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine that was labeled a dead link, so brava! Unfortunately, the new article was posted on a website which is not ideal for Wikipedia's purposes. Let me explain:

One of the core principles of writing for Wikipedia, is that all content must be verifiable. The best way to ensure this, is to always do your research first, using reliable sources like reputable books or magazines, scholarly articles, and reliable websites, before you write anything. There are many reliable websites online, like U. Ottawa Medicine, for example; but there are very many websites that are just blogs, or forums where anybody can write whatever they want. The website Medium (website) is a "self-published site", where anybody can write pretty much anything and publish it online. Websites like that, are generally considered unsuitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Sometimes, reliable authors and experts do publish on Medium, and then it would be acceptable to use a citation to their article in those cases. But normally, it's best to try and find the same article on a highly reliable site, and not cite the Medium article, unless absolutely necessary. Instead of the Medium link you added, I found the Internet archive backup of the original U. Ottawa url, and added that instead.
