Pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have not made any edits or logged actions in the preceding twelve months. Because you have been inactive, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month.
Inactive administrators are encouraged to rejoin the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to rejoin the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.
Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:34, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Already via IRC, but I figured there should be something on-wiki too. Welcome back, Amortias. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 03:20, 7 March 2024 (UTC) |

Hi Amortias, thanks for blocking these IP users. The IP range was blocked for 31 hours just yesterday for vandalizing NYC Subway articles (see Special:PageHistory/1 (New York City Subway service), for example), and the range immediately began vandalizing these pages upon the expiry of their block. With the fast-paced nature of their reverts, the fact that their vandalism spans dozens of articles, and the dynamic nature of the IPs, perhaps a longer-term rangeblock would be warranted here, at least for the following addresses:

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Note: This notification was triggered due to your recent edits to Sweet Baby Inc.

Well actually I wrote that entry while I was watching that Sweeny Todd movie on TCM. 2603:7081:1206:71D3:EF17:762A:2168:48C0 (talk) 21:57, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
Re-instanciation of legitimate warnings just posted to user talk pages
Hi,
I aware users are allowed to remove content to their talk page, and I'm aware that talk pages are not meant to be used to shame users. However, I think it is not appropriate for users to just remove warning messages immediately after they get poster to their pages, and I think such warnings can legitimately be reinstated when this happens.
In the case of Justdoinsomeedtits, I respectfully think your time would have been better invested investigating the recent behavior of this multi-recidivist vandal, who is clearly not here to build an encyclopedia. See e.g

Ethics Workshop Participation Request
Hi! We're conducting a series of participatory workshops with Wikipedia editors, administrators, researchers, and Wikimedia employees to discuss, and hopefully improve, Wikipedia's structures for online research (see meta research page). In an effort to get the right people in the room to discuss these topics, I'm reaching out here to see if you are interested in participating as an active administrator. We'd work with you to ensure this workshop can fit into your schedule, but are targeting end of April/early May. I'm happy to discuss any of these topics further here or on our talk page. Please help
Please help me. I am being blocked from contributing by an anonymous user who keeps taking me back instead of communicating. I told him that I was working on the jersey design and that the jersey would remain on the page temporarily, but he did not pay any attention to me. I shouldn't need an administrator to provide positive input, I would consider it harassment for an anonymous user to revert revisions. If you explain that there is no harm in having the club jersey on the page temporarily and that this jersey is available on many wikis, maybe they will accept your words. DelbatrosTalk 07:49, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- Amortias, Are you serious? Why did you block me? I didn't do anything wrong, I added the jersey that is on all Wikipedia pages to the page, and why did you block me even though I gave you the necessary explanation? DelbatrosTalk 08:19, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
Rubyaho
I wanted to thank you for your intervention with this user, Rubyaho, and advise you to keep an eye on him after the block expires, because his response to your block notice for personal attack was an insult to you, as you can verify on his talk page's chrono. Edit-warring at Halime Sultan
Hello Amortias, I hope you are doing well. I noticed that you blocked Rubyaho for personal attacks. You might want to review the edit history of this article, as other users were also engaged in edit warring. – DreamRimmer (talk) 12:58, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- Ta, the personal attack got picked up by an edit filter so havent reviewed the article,
- Will go take a look now. Amortias (T)(C) 13:03, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
