Stuarts Hammer

So I haven't been able to find any other sources for Stuarts Hammer. As for the existing sources, despite a number of NYT articles titled "The Pop Life," there are none that acknowledge this band or come from the year the article claims it was published in. Stereo Review magazine apparently dropped off the face of the earth a few years ago and has no online archives anywhere. The Rolling Stone article doesn't seem to exist either. The band may be notable, but so far I'm not finding much to show that. --Nathan2055talk - contribs 02:49, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week for your determination and dedication to help the encyclopedia grow. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

Editor L235 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

It is my pleasure to nominate User Amortias for Editor of the Week. Amortias has been a pleasure to work with in his almost-four-months as an arbitration clerk, which is quite a thankless job that I can vouch he does very well. Other than clerking, Amortias is a prolific anti-vandalism editor with over 10000 Twinkle edits and a new page patroller with over 1200 edits to his CSD log. Amortias is truly one of the unsung heroes of the encyclopedia.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

Editing

As a member of the school community, the school administration has a (disputed) history of discrimination. The hoax letter was sourced to a Toronto Star article. Please refrain from removing important information about the school, however scandalous it may be.

IEditRCI (talk) 19:54, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

And the reliable sources showing the history of this discrimination is to be found where? Amortias (T)(C) 19:55, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

The school community is aware of the administration's behaviour. No media outlets have reported it, thus why I have included the word "disputed". It is important to include this information, so parents who may be researching the school online are aware. IEditRCI (talk) 20:11, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

If its not reported we cant include it. By the same logic claims could be made that it is the best school in the world , but as no media outlets that are considered reliable have reported it we wont include it. The same rule applies either way. Amortias (T)(C) 20:13, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Toronto Star is a reliable media outlet. This time, information was clearly referenced. Unsourced information was removed, as per your request. It is understood that this is a scandalous incident, but that is all the more reason to make this information accessible to readers on the Richview Collegiate Institute page. IEditRCI (talk) 20:31, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Please show me where it states that the hoax is disputed. Amortias (T)(C) 20:33, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Susan McMaster page, request for notability and COI edits

Dear Amortias -- You kindly welcomed me, so I hope you can continue the conversation ;-)). Another editor (Dissident Aggressor) seemed to take over the conversation, but now appears to have retired. Following DA's directions I tried to send an {{edit request}} to supply some requested "notability" citations, but they don't seem to have gone through or received any response? Perhaps I'm doing it wrong. Quick history: this is not "my" page -- someone else (unknown to me) mounted it about me many years ago, maybe 10, possibly because of my history with Canadian Who's Who from the 1990s (also mounted by an unknown)or because of my links with The League of Canadian Poets (e.g., I'm a former President of the League). Having learned about the page, I've occasionally brought it up to date with my current activities and publications. I did this recently, resulting in two notes: notability proof needed; and can't edit because it's about me. Can you help me, please? Thanks! Sue (SusanMcMaster) SusanMcMaster (talk) 16:53, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

SusanMcMaster I'll aim to take a look later today.Amortias (T)(C) 18:22, 14 February 2016 (UTC)^
Converted the {{edit request}} template to normal text, since this edit request isn't intended for the normal queue (which happens to be ridiculously backlogged, asking users who have an interest in the topic is definitely a better idea). Altamel (talk) 05:25, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks very much! I also re-found your comment from Feb 11, so I did email the Volunteer Response team to verify my identity. I'm now rushing out the door and will be off-grid till Friday 19 Feb 2016, but will check back then and try to do the rest of what you suggested. SusanMcMaster (talk) 14:26, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I received a message that my page meets the criteria for speedy deletion. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parrot-Hood) Please let me know what I need to do to improve my page. I am planning on creating or enhancing articles about all the top avian experts. I did contest the speedy deletion but since this is my first article, I thought you might have some additional advise. If my page is approved I would like to write a page about Force Free Animal training, add to clicker training with information focusing on parrots (from Dave and Jamieleigh). Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AvianStudies (talkcontribs) 23:44, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, the article needs some work with regards to showing how it meets the criteria for notability and also the reliable sources that are required to confirm information in articles.
Your best option would be to request it is moved to draft space for you to work on it until its ready to be published. If the article is drafted then you can submit it for review by experienced editors who can give specific advise on anything that needs working on to improve it prior to publication.
If you want it drafting let me know here and if it hasn't been deleted I can move it, if it has been removed I can request it is restored to draft space by an administrator.
Amortias (T)(C) 23:49, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Yes, will you change it to a draft. Specific feedback would be great. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parrot-Hood) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AvianStudies (talkcontribs) 00:03, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

I have moved the page to the draft space here. The best thing to do first would be to read this page and ensure you have covered all the points.Amortias (T)(C) 00:09, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

In Our Time

Hi,

Well, if you don't think listing participants is constructive, fine, but I'll allow myself to mention that you removed not one, but several edits. The other, minor, edits tidied up a few small things as I came across them. Nothing terribly important, I'm sure, but still.

Anyway... do as you see fit.

Ceil Clayton Final Draft for your Review as requested

Hello

Thank you for the help on this... It's on my bucket list (I am one of 3 siblings) Ceil was my mother myself and oldest sister have cancer so we want to get this done before we pass on.

I have edited the BIO and made in a better smooth read. I'm ready for it to be uploaded as New Article and how do I do that now?

I have a couple of extra questions still

1 Is there a Place I can put a picture? 2) Sample song? 3) links to You Tube or Facebook pages I am also building?

Again

Thank you so much for your help

Jim Strecker Feb 28 2016 James strecker (talk) 19:28, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi James/Jim (you'll have to let me know a preference).
  • There's a red link on your talk page that says here in my previous comment there. You'll need to copy the content to that page. Then place {{subst:submit}} above the very top line.
  • You will only be ale to upload a picture that is either public domain or that you own the copyright to (one you took yourself) and are willing to donate to the project. If you want more assistance with doing this let me know and I can provide further links for that process.
  • Songs are a problematic one again because of the copyright implication, a small 3-5 second sample is usually permitted but this would need to be something that is so easibly recognisable that it may be a struggle to justify it in this case.
  • Links to Youtube and Facebook are generally discouraged as they struggle to add to the encyclopaedic content of the articles and having them there to show more things about them can have an air of advertising to it (intentional or otherwise).

Amortias (T)(C) 19:59, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

You have made a mistake.

It took some effort to edit the plot and add new info on the casts. It is not a test. Please put the changes back Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.50.116.110 (talk) 20:52, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
