Good Evening, my name is Courtney and I'm a costudent of yours in the Languages In Peril course. I thought your lead section in your sandbox is very good, but I think it strays away from language and more towards the history of the people. I know it can be very difficult to find information about endangered languages (I am struggling myself), but try to include things about the language itself. Most importantly, I'd like to know the status of this language: is it endangered, dying, or completely extinct? If it isn't extinct, how many people still speak this language? Is this language written? You spoke a lot about the history of the area, which might be OK if you can directly link it to the people's culture since culture and language are tightly intertwined in many ways. Hey maybe you can talk about what exactly was used in their curriculum. I made a change to your article and cited it. I hope you like it. Feel free to delete or change it.FIVEGUY55 (talk) 03:06, 6 April 2017 (UTC) I added that sentence and citation because I thought the article did a good job of discussing the history of how the Gagauz language came to be labeled and it also goes in to how religion played a big part in its history. According to the article, "The term "Gagauz language" was used more broadly after publication in the early twentieth century of religious books written in Gagauz." It further discusses how the politics of religion played a part in what seems to be the decline in usage of this language. I found it very informative. Hello. My name is Sara. I would add an article title. I also added a few commas to your article. As Courtney mentioned, you should point out the status of the language. I believe the article also does not mention who the Gagauz are or where the language is spoken. I know it is difficult to find information on endangered languages, but perhaps include a bit more information on the language itself under the Gagauz Language section. Otherwise, the history of the people is interesting, as history often tells us how a language has become distinct. Good luck on the rest of your article!
