July 2021: A Wikipedia article would make a lovely gift, but...

Unfortunately, the sole purpose of Wikipedia is to advance the world's knowledge, rather than to gratefully give tribute to someone we like. If your teacher has independent notability in the field of music, making an article about them would not be a waste of your time. However, if they don't qualify for an article, you should not bother pursuing that path. Note that Wikipedia has thousands of articles about non-notable people, which we regret. We are slowly removing them, and unwilling to have any more.--Quisqualis (talk) 02:08, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
